Katie Holmes was up and at them early this morning (February 23) to start filming scenes for her upcoming movie “The Extra Man”. Katie carried 2 bags with her onto the set. One that said “I Love my Earth” and the other was a blue jean bag. Much different than the bags we are used to seeing her carry around!
Katie headed back to New York after taking a little bit of time off to travel with the family. Now it’s time to get back to work. The film is about “a man who escorts wealthy widows in New York’s Upper East Side takes a young aspiring playwright under his wing.”
Katie sure looks cute in her striped pants, black coat and scarf. It looks like it’s cold in NY today! Get ready for a ton of Katie Holmes candids from New York. More below.

Her skin looks very good. Very healthy skin tone, vibrant, and refreshed. Her hair is looking shiny and healthy as well, and it appears to be growing longer! Yeah! Good move Katie to grow it in. She gained some much needed weight….another excellent move! I do not like her choice of coat, however, with those pants. Those pants are cute but they appear to be of a linen fabric which is odd b/c linen is for much warmer weather and we here in the East are getting socked yet again wit another cold front! I like that Katie has to suffer in the cold like I do every day!!!!! Bout teh only thing she and I have in common….the weather!!!

I hope those pants are for the movies that she is in and not her style of dress? I don’t care for them at all. I guess I don’t know about this being in fashion yet?
What’s with all the odd facial gestures?
I guess thats why stars wear sun glasses all the time, how awful walking a few blocks, or coming in and out of a shop looking up or down or squinting , the paps are there recording your every facial gesture and this is going to go for the next 2 months or so, it must be so tiresome.
I read that she and Tom stopped wearing sunglasses out in public so much because their publicist wants them to appear more like “normal people.” Part of the image reconstruction project. LOL.

Kelly, I left out “sunglasses at night.” If you recall, they always used to wear them at night to deflect the lightbulbs, but if you look at recent pictures, no more. Voila!!
About the hat, definitely channeling Jolie in the Changeling, whether by design, or not. I only recently saw that movie and Jolie was the first thing I thought of when I saw Katie in this get up. Many, many other posters thought the same thing.
