After weeks of seeing photos of Katie Holmes outside the CBS studios sporting dance gear, we finally have the official word that she will be doing a dance number on So You Think You Can Dance this season. The show’s producer, Nigel Lythgoe confirmed this in an interview with People Magazine.
From Lythgoe: “Katie is a small part of what is going on,” he said. “It’s more than Katie.”
The performance will be in support of a charity – which charity is still up in the air while the show’s producers continue to finalize everything and work out paperwork with other “official channels” including the IRS.
The rumor is that Katie will be doing a tribute to Judy Garland’s “Come On Get Happy” from Summer Stock. Her performance is expected to be part of the season finale, which will air on August 6th July 23rd episode.
It should be really fantastic to see Katie show off the dancing skills she certainly picked up from her work on Broadway. You might also remember late last year when Katie did a sexy song and dance number on ABC’s Eli Stone. You can check out the video on Youtube (sorry, they have it disabled so I can’t embed the video here!).
