On Sunday (November 22), Katie Holmes, Suri Cruise and big sis Isabella Cruise braved the chaotic New York streets to do some shopping and grab a bit to eat.
According to OK Magazine, on Saturday (November 21), Katie took Suri to see The Lion King and on Sunday, they went to the Joyce Theater to catch a retrospective of the Complexions Contemporary Ballet Company in the city.
A performer from the company reportedly talked to OK about Katie’s visit. They said, “She is very interested in dance and she wanted to check out our performance, so she came down to the stage to meet us after”.
On their Sunday outing, they grabbed lunch at Balthazar in Soho and Katie can be seen taking pictures of Suri and the photographers with her phone. The pictures from their Sunday outing are so cute. There is one below of Suri smiling and she just looks adorable. The ones from the restaurant are great because Katie is being so animated.

First of all , I want a dress like Suris, but in a red wine , burgandy colour, how gorgeous is that little dress. those boots and backpack are adorable too. Suri always has cuter things than other celeb kids.
Secondly, I love those pics in the resturant. I think Katie would be the best step mum, I really do. That tiger face top that Bella is wearing , Katie has one as well, how cute is that!
Sometimes I think that Katie struggles with some aspects of her very public life, and she can’t always hide it, so its lovely to see the private funny side of Katie, coming through with Suri and Bella.

Although I love to see pictures my heart often goes out to them as they really cannot live their lives outside without pictures being taken. Must be very hard. The restaurant pics are great as Katie is at ease. The thing I do not understand is why Suri isn’t wearing a coat, which oftens happens regardless the weather.
There is a video of Katie Suri and Bella X17. They taped the girls while shopping at Madewell and at the resturant . The frightening thing was there were so many paps it was incredible. Katies cute, you can tell when she’s agitated by the paps, she rolls her tongue around in her mouth, it happens a lot lately , you can see it in pics.
These are very cute pics and Suri’s dress is adorable. Katie looks so pretty in the candid shots. Having said all that I cannot understand for the life of me why Suri has no jacket on or even sleeves??!! I find this continued behavior to be ridiculous and irresponsible parenting. I know it isn’t any of my business but these pictures are here for us to comment on so I am giving my opinion about it. I really think they have taken the “Suri doesn’t like to wear a coat” thing too far. She is a child and so doesn’t know what is best for her. That is why children have parents. To guide them and teach them to eat their veggies, drink their milk, and wear the proper clothing for this time of year. My 15 year old rolls her eyes at me and huffs around because I won’t let her wear flip flops outside when it is 51 degrees. But I don’t care…I say to her…only stupid people wear stuff like that when it is this cold…are YOU stupid? Lol.
As for the coat thing… perhaps they are in and out of stores so much that it doesn’t really matter. We certainly can’t tell from the pictures how long they were outside. As Annie said, the amount of paps on the street was “frightening” and you wouldn’t know it from the pics. I assume if Suri was cold, she’d ask for a jacket.
My daughter always hates to wear her jacket, especially to school. I used to be anal about it but I learned to let her make her decision and suffer the consequences. If she’s cold, she’s cold. If she was suppose to have a jacket and can’t go out for recess, too bad. It was her decision. If it was a bad one, it’s a learning experience…. better than me nagging her.
Oh, for heaven’s sake. Please *stop* with the coat thing! I love these photos and agree completely that life must be very difficult with the paps in tow everywhere they go … but … don’t you think it would be nice if we (as members of the gawking public) kept our opinions to ourselves from time to time? Parents are not put on earth to wrap their children in sunscreen, hats, coats, mittens, etc so they can’t feel the lovely sun or wind on their skin. What’s next .. cotton wool? Perhaps if a slightly windy day is forecast, Kate should make her daughter wear a gas mask & carry an oxygen tank to ensure she’s doesn’t catch any germs or inhale dust or … *gasp* some REAL air! Wow.
I love your site, Julie. But jeeze, the parenting wowsers on it really go hammer & tong sometimes.
I wonder, what Suri is gonna wear when it is going to snow and freeze…

I have to agree with Sharon on the jacket thing – if Suri was cold she’d ask for one. Kids need to learn these things for themselves.
I have to say, Katie looks brilliant and I just adore Suri’s dress – isn’t it gorgeous!!
I think that katie is a good mom but I do wonder about her judgements to allow her daughter to wear what she likes. Its Nov in these pics and she is walking around Ny with a sleevelss dress on. What type of mom allows that. She is not a adult she is a child and should be treated that way. Wise up katie, im a huge fan of yours but this isnt the first time suri has been seen out in cold weather with no jacket
Isabella cruise is so sweet. she looks neglected though. it must be hard for isabella. But she could totally out rock Katie.
