Katie Holmes smiled and waved to the crowd as she rehearsed for the Memorial Day concert in Washington D.C. on Saturday (May 23).
She was wearing a cute top, black leggings and carrying a gorgeous white purse with black trim. She looks great!
Katie and co-star Dianne Weist participated in the dress rehearsal as well and took to the stage to practice. You can see some pictures of Katie and Dianne in front of the capital here.
Last week, Katie told USA Today how important this concert was. She said, “It’s important to tell these stories and honor the sacrifice and service of these men and women and their families. It’s a real gift to be able to portray an American of such strength. I’m excited. I want to do justice to her story.”

The blue highwaisted slacks and blue blouse are just great! So is Katie’s makeup. Flawless! You can absolutely see the difference when Katie has help with her hair and makeup. I love the whole look!
That print top and the capri’s…..not so much.
The capri’s hit her leg right at the heaviest point of her calves and it’s not flattering IMHO. Also don’t love the print on the blouse or the cut, but that’s just me. It looks kind of “old” for such a young woman.
Has anyone seen the show? I’m sure Katie did just great!!
CRose: I second EVERYTHING you wrote!!! GOSH…..KATIE LOOKS BEAUTIFUL!!!!! Its sooooooo true that when she is professionally styled for an event she looks STUNNING. I swear….she is gorgeous here. The capri and floral shirt look terrible on her…again…its a skinny capri pant and skinny pants highlight her heavier hips and thighs…pear shapes should not wear skinny jeans etc. She really looks fantastic. I wish I would have remembered to tape the show…I so wanted to see her in it but was having too much fun at a festival…..maybe Julie will post some clips of it…..I love seeing Katie in videos!!

Katie looks great! It’s too bad she can’t pronounce Bethesda Naval Hospital (which by the way had already been mentioned numerous times before she performed). It seems no one was paying attention if in deed she did rehearse.

I love that pic ,where Katie is walking hand in hand with Diane Wiest, she looks great, and I’m loving her hair, you see what a difference longer hair does to Katie, amazing. Idon’t mind the capri pants, not too sure about the blouse, don’t like the sleeves, I think they should have been shorter, it actually looks home made to me, but again I like her hair like that in that pic as well, and her makeup is just perfect .I like her videos too, I go over them like a detective.

I love the pictures. It is one set of pictures but Katie’s face changes so much. I am sure she did very well. Dianne too. They had such nice things to say about each other.
Jen, I’m with you, who designed that white, black & blue top? It’s gorgeous!! I love both of her outfits here though, they both look great.
I wonder what she’s going to do with her hair now it’s a bit longer, back to the bob? I do like her hair in a bob…..
