This is rich: “Garbage chic” popstar Ke$ha is attempting to sue Chicago-based watch company Wimo Labs because the name of their new watchband “TikTok” sounds and looks like her first hit single, “Tik Tok.” And even though the absence of the letter C is strange on Wimo’s end, it’s a watch company. The phrase “tick tock” has been associated with nothing but timepieces for hundreds of years.
There’s a chance that Ke$ha’s people are exercising their legal muscles because the performer has an endorsement deal with Casio’s Baby-G watches; maybe even the slightest allusion to her brand would endanger that partnership. But still, she probably doesn’t have a fishnet-sheathed leg to stand on.
Anyway, Wimo’s TikTok wristband is one of those that you can put your iPod Nano into, so concievably Ke$ha could have a whole lot more people listening to her tracks at the gym or on the way to work/class.
