Kelly Bensimon’s strategy to let the world know how awesome her life is by being on Real Housewives of New York City is, as we say on the internet, an EPIC FAIL. Not only did she come off looking like a coked out crazy person on the infamous Brass Monkey “I‘m up here, you’re down there” showdown, she also got arrested for beating up her boyfriend. Now, on the same week she is seen hawking her precious owl jewelry, it’s been revealed that she stole those designs from a former co-worker, Celeste Greenberg of Tuleste.

In fact, that Owl design that she proudly displayed on this week’s show are pieces STOLEN from one of our favorite designers, Celeste Greenberg, founder of Tuleste (and an ACTUAL designer). It gets better: not only are the owl designs NOT Kelly’s, she is currently tied up in a lawsuit about the stolen property with Tuleste!
…Digging deeper we got the story: apparently Celeste worked with Kelly as an editor at Elle Accessories and styled her with the owl for Fashion Week, as well as used the owl in her personal shoots. Kelly told her: “I like your eye! Let’s start a line together!” and as soon as they had started the design, she cut Celeste out of the picture.”
So not only is Kelly a copycat, she’s a backstabber who cut her business partner out of the deal. Ouch.

Well, that explains it then It was pretty hard to believe that Kelly could come up with a coherent idea on her own.

Either way the owls were ugly no matter who created them. Looked like something off the table of a flea market.

Yeah, not only are owls in accessories hardly groundbreaking, but I remember the charms as being semi-fug. She didn’t even bother to steal something amazing and pass it off as he own. Her University of Phoenix at Columbia degree clearly continues to fail her.
