Kelly Bishop To Guest Star On 'Mercy'

Sassy Michael Ausiello has once again got the scoop: the divine Kelly Bishop (Emily Gilmore on Gilmore Girls) will be featured in a multi-episode arc of NBC’s hospital drama Mercy. Kelly will play a patient of Jamie Lee Kirshner’s character, Sonia, named Elaine. I can only hope that “Elaine” is half as entertaining to watch as some of Emily Gilmore’s best one-liners.

Kelly’s last turns on TV were three episodes of Law and Order: SVU and one episode of Army Wives. Are you excited to see Kelly back on the screen? I am! Emily was always a guilty pleasure (I know I should have been rooting for Lorelai) and Kelly just seems like such a class act of an actress, I’m happy to support her.

You can currently watch full episodes of Mercy on NBC’s site.

I’m really in love with Kelly Bishop, or at least, with Emily Gilmore. Or, with the woman that will for ever be young, and beautiful, and so kind.

Isn’t it fabulous that she’s going to be back on screen?
I can’t wait to find out the air dates, so I can mark them on my calendar!
‘Multi-episode arch’ sounds fabulous as well, since the character can be much better developed than in a guest role, which only lasts one episode. :oD!

Oh, another guesting from a Gilmore Girls alum on a medical drama! After Grey’s Anatomy, Private Practice and E.R :D
