Well, Kelly Clarkson is in the works to release a new, “new” album. Since “My December” has not done as well as she had hoped, Kelly has agreed to begin working on another album. This might explain the abrupt about-face last week when she apolized to Clive Davis. Hmmm… here’s the story:
Following the critical and commercial disappointment of her most recent album, My December, and the controversy surrounding it, Kelly Clarkson has agreed to start working on a new album right away, which will be released in 2008.
Clarkson’s last album, Breakaway, sold a whopping six million copies in the U.S. alone. My December is expected to sell only about 850,000.
It seems like Kelly has realized the error of her ways and is taking the appropriate steps to ensure she gets her career back on track.
My December, which was released just weeks ago, was shelved by music mogul Clive Davis for months because he didn’t think the album had any hits.
Clarkson ended up cancelling her poor-selling summer tour and firing her manager, as a result of all the dramz.
Realizing the error of her ways, Kelly took the bold move of apologizing publicly to Clive Davis earlier this week.
The new album that Clarkson is recording will definitely be more radio friendly and promises to have the big pop hits this recent album lacks. Davis is overseeing the new project from its inception.

…
so she’s giving in and willing to Not be who she really is as an artiste so that she can sell more records?
I thought Kelly stood strong and proud for her musical tastes and what kind of artiste she is..
this whole kelly vs. clive thing has been so totally overhyped and overrated… i don’t think kelly has ‘given in’ or ’surrendered’ to clive… the fact that she has launched an album that really represents her being is a proof that she has stood upon her convictions… besides, kelly’s not a b**ch who doesn’t realize or understand business and marketing in the music industry. she has acknowledged her errors and has proven to the world that she’s just a normal person who makes mistakes sometimes (though i don’t really think that my december was a mistake)… let’s have a closure about this and get on with our lives…
Clive Davis really does know what the masses like to listen to. Every artist should listen to him if they want to sell millions. But if they wanna do their own thing and not sell a lot, then that’s cool too.
WOW, talk about hard working.
she’s not giving in. she’s said many times before that she loved her album breakaway, as well as thankful, but that she needed to make my december because of the rough time she had over the last couple of years. her going more back to breakaway format isn’t giving in, cause she likes that type of music too.
and besides kelly said from day one before my december was even released that if it bombed she would go back and do what she usually does. because her record company puts alot of money and dedication behind her, so if she can make good music and sale records than they both win, and no one has to lose their jobs
“My December” is one of the best albums I have ever heard. The fact that sales weren’t high has nothing to do with how good the album is. It has everything to do with her label not promoting it the way it should have!
