Kelly Cutrone's Advice To Lindsay Lohan

Kelly CutroneWe ran into power publicist Kelly Cutrone and her minions Robyn Berkley and Emily Bungert (dressed in black, natch) at last night’s Bravo upfront. Since Lindsay Lohan is currently working without a publicist, we thought we’d ask Kelly for some advice for the starlet. Not surprisingly, Kelly had a lot to say on the matter, and it’s not bad advice:

“I actually know her. She’s really nice. I think it is really, really hard to be so beautiful and so little and have so much money and so much power. I don’t know anybody who has been that young and that successful –- Drew Barrymore, there’s a gazillion people –- that haven’t been taken down under the wave of the comments of those things. So I would encourage her to think about the bigger picture and to know that there is going to be a place where she’s welcome and she absolutely has to make mistakes and she’s also brave to take chances and to like retreat, cocoon, chrysalize and rebirth. I don’t think it’s easy…you have to get lashed. You have to get hurt and you have to get burned. And hopefully, she’s going to be one of those kids that ends up like Drew Barrymore. Or Ron Howard. Or all the other people who grew up in the industry and not people like Corey Haim. Or Casey Johnson. Or the other people who were taken down by the vices, the false imprisonment and the false use of power in the industry. It’s not easy. My advice to her would be to breath, relax, appreciate, refocus and remanifest. Look at Robert Downey. He’s a big star now. Everybody’s allowed. If you’re going to go up, you have to be willing to hit the ground.”
