Kenny Chesney has announced he’ll be closing out Country Thunder in late July next year. The four day country music festival takes place in Wisconsin and will also feature Sugarland and Miranda Lambert.

Tickets are currently on sale at CountryThunder.com for $99 for all four days, though the site warns that this deal isn’t permanent!
Kenny says that he couldn’t not play, especially since he plans to take next year off from touring:
“Anyone who knows me knows I can’t not play,” said Chesney, who is not doing a full-fledged stadium tour next summer. “I need my fans… I need the music… and I need to get out there and feel that energy. While nobody realizes how much work goes into one of my shows – and that’s the level of production that I think my fans deserve – that doesn’t mean I don’t believe my guys can pick and play with the best of ‘em.”
The line-up for the rest of the festival has also been announced, and so far includes:
Thursday, July 22nd
Eric Church, John Michael Montgomery and Sawyer Brown
Friday, July 23
Trailer Choir, Randy Houser, Big Kenny, Williams & Ree, Jason Aldean and Sugarland
Saturday, July 24
Gloriana, Collin Raye, Williams & Ree, Kevin Costner & Modern West and Miranda Lambert
Sunday, July 25th
Jason Jones, David Nail, Luke Bryan, Jo Dee Messina, Willams & Ree, Billy Currington and Chesney
Though there was a bit of controversy with a canceled Country Thunder in Texas in 2008, I’m not sure it’s the same people running the show, though it doesn’t hurt to double check if you’re wary.
