Kenny Chesney Defends Sugarland

Apparently Sugarland has been taking some flak lately over their decision to cancel performances due to some vocal issues lead singer Jennifer Nettles has been having!

Kenny Chesney, whom the duo is touring with in his Sun City Carnival concert tour, has been quick to step in and ask fans, specifically ones on the CMT.com website where a lot of the comments originated, to give them a break. Kenny says:

“It was really sad to see the way some people reacted to Jennifer needing to cancel her appearance in San Francisco last weekend, and it seems to me we should all be concerned about her long term vocal health more than any single show that she may not be able to do.

“Naturally I’m disappointed she’s not out here with us – cause she is a friend as well as an act I know the fans enjoy – but I think it’s more important that she have the time to heal properly, rather than forcing herself to try and rush back onstage.”

Sugarland will be out of commission through at least the rest of this week, causing them to miss a performance in Salt Lake City, Utah. Fellow Chesney touring-mates Lady Antebellum and Miranda Lambert will be picking up some slack by playing extended sets on the tour.

I agree with Kesney, some people were just flat out vicious when they heard Sugarland had to cancel. Of course it’s going to upset people but the way they reacted made it seem as if Jennifer had cancelled on purpose. I hope she gets better and has a speedy recovery!
