Known for his role in Journeyman, this Scottish actor may be joining the ranks at Seattle Grace as a knew doc in town. Kevin McKidd – who also appeared in HBO’s Rome – is currently in talks with the executives of Grey’s Anatomy to appear in what sounds to be a rather long story arc. The storyline would involve McKidd as a doctor who arrives at Seattle Grace after serving in Iraq. Doesn’t give us much to go on, but at least it’s something.
If you haven’t seen Journeyman or Rome but McKidd looks familiar, that’s because he also starred in Patrick Dempsey’s most recent film, Made of Honor. Coincidence? Perhaps the two of them hit it off so much that Dempsey put a good word in at the Grey’s Anatomy headquarters. Or, perhaps it really is a coincidence.
This news might be good for fans of McKidd, but do we really need more characters circulating through the show, taking away precious screen time from the core cast and their budding relationships? I’m not sure. Sounds like McKidd might add his own McDrama to the mix, though I’m not sure we need any more of that either.

He can stay so long as he doesn’t ruin anything for mer/der! *haha*
OMG, I would LOVE to see him join Grey’s! Not for Meredith but for Cristina or Izzie, or just any reason. I loved this guy on Journeyman and was really disappointed when the show was canceled. He’s GOOD and would make an excellent addition to the cast.
There’s a good photo of him from Journeyman here:

His brother on the show (Reed Diamond) is hot, too!

OMG More Characters!!
NOOOO!! Stop please!
Unless he doesn’t get on my bad side i might like him but then again i don’t seem to like any of the new characters!
If Kevin does join the cast I hope he keeps his Scottish accent, but the main thing is that he does not spoil things for MerDer!
[...] so maybe we won’t have to worry about that storyline putting a damper on MerDer. We know that Kevin McKidd will be joining Seattle Grace as a new doctor. New faces always have the potential to add drama and cause conflict where there [...]
booo
I didn’t like him in made of honor, and not just because he was the bad guy. I dont think he can act and he’s also ugly…
I have been saying (& hoping) for some time now that Grey’s brings on a new OB dr that sweeps tough-as-nails Christina off her feet. I hope de fits that bill.
i dont really like this guy but.. it might be good for the other girls of the cast. OMGGG!!!!!!!!! what happens when they meet him… Mclovin!! BAHHAHAH! what are they going to call him!
I wonder if they’ll give him a McName too
Maybe McHottie? Hmm…
I hope he’s “tough as nails” so he can click with Christina.

Dude, no.
When you start throwing in random people and babies, your like a half step away from cheesy daytime soaps.
Greys has really gone downhill this season, excluding the finale which was AMAZING.
I don’t know if he’s worthy of Greys? He really sticks out for his awkward clumbsy acting and ravaged ugliness…
