American Idol finalist, Kimberley Locke, is dating a trainer – well that’s one way to get in shape!
People is reporting that the two are romantically involved but there’s a catch – “He’s not officially my boyfriend,” Locke says of Celebrity Fit Club’s notoriously tough trainer Harvey E. Walden IV. “[His divorce] is why we’re not a couple yet. That is my rule. Whether you’re separated or married — whatever — I would like it to be cleared up. Until then we can hang out together and have fun together.”
“We worked out on the show (Celebrity Fit Club) together for four months and never even said anything to each other. I thought he was mean. I didn’t want him to be mean to me, but then after the show was over and I saw him outside of work, he was really nice.”
"We do work out together sometimes. We go running and everything, but the whole working out in the gym thing didn’t go so well. Two bossy people? He wants me to do things his way. I want to do it my way — I’m going to do it my way. It didn’t work out.”
Kimberley lost 40 lbs. last year while on Fit Club and later, as a Jenny Craig spokeswoman. It’s really hard to lose weight (I lost 47 lbs. in 2007 – 31 to go!!!) so I have to commend her effort. I’m also glad to hear that she’s waiting until Harvey’s divorce is finalized. I have a lot of respect for that, if it’s true.
What do you think of dating a married, but divorcing man?
Kim Locke will be on the “Ellen” show today. I wonder if she’ll say anything about this.

Kinda high schoolish to put it the way she did. She’s not “hanging out”, she’s DATING, if she’s out with him, because she knows the INTENT is to date after the divorce, so she isn’t hanging out as a friend but as someone interested in more.

She did call it what it is today on Ellen. They even showed a picture of him.
I don’t get Ellen where I am, for a while yet. Did she say she’s dating him? Cuz that’s the only answer for telling it like it is, imo.:-)

Very interesting to be going so public with someone who is not your actual boyfriend.
Kimberly has a tendency to do that lately. Just like when she recently gave a Billboard Magazine interview that she and her management team was in talks with Clay and Ruben for a reunion tour. It was completely untrue and she knew there had been NO talks at all with either camp yet she said it anyway.
She was trying to force Clay’s hand to do a tour with her and it did not go over too well.
She needs to learn to keep quiet when things are really not written in stone yet.
And here they come, the Clay fans *eye roll*
Do you know the whole story of what happened between them? No? Didn’t think so.
It was a misunderstanding between them, get over it.
I think the point, Scott, is that she misspeaks. Or coats it to be palatable. That’s not impressive for someone so intelligent. IMO, only.
And while some is a Clay fan they are still entitled to their opinions as much as the next guy, even if they have a particular view.
Since no one knows the “whole” story, perhaps defensiveness on both sides should stop, in other words, getting over it works both ways.
As an addition, I will say she isn’t the only one that misspeaks, in her defense. Clay has done so as well, as have many others. It’s human, happens to everyone. Don’t for a minute think Clay or anyone else is perfect, happens to them all.
How about back to the story in question?
I am always amazed about what isconsidered news about Idols.
With a very few exceptios the buldk of the idols
1) can actually sing, not have autotuned voices or need electro sound
2) Don’t get into car accidents or show up coked up or drunk in the news
3) get picked on for Every.Single.Remark from someone joking about Vote for the worst to another person saying an interview question was stupid when it is. The all show grace living under the microscope
basically these are normal humans who don’t particularly do anything of interest if they were not on Idol, the highest rating show with a large internet fandom.
My attitude is a big whoop for Kim dating a separated guy, not the first, will not be the last. No major moral crimes were committed. And no animals were injured in the filming of their “date”. I suppose that Kim could have handled the question better, but so could a myriad of people. Yawn.
