Kimberly Caldwell, who you might remember from Season 2 of American Idol (and as David Cook’s ex-girlfriend), is joining another reality TV show but, thankfully, she will NOT be a contestant. Instead, she’s been tapped to host P. Diddy’s new MTV show StarMaker.
On the show, 14 contestants vie for the ultimate prize – a recording contract with Bad Boy Records which, of course, would include having their career launched by Bad Boy CEO, P. Diddy. The 10-episode series kicks off on August 16, 2009 at 10pm ET/PT.
They do have some celebrity guests lined up including Fall Out Boy bassist, Pete Wentz, Lady Gaga, Nicole Scherzinger and Kelly Rowland (formerly of Destiny’s Child and BFF to Beyoncé). I may tune in for Pete Wentz. I can’t explain why but I just like him!
To be very honest, I’m not completely sure I’m going to watch it. Are you going to give it a try? I think it’s well placed on the schedule since it comes on right after America’s Best Dance Crew so StarMaker might get some of that audience.
