The former object of teenage girls’ affection, including my own, is speaking out on his own understanding of the plight of today’s stars, including Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan and Miley Cyrus.
Having been a child star himself, Kirk, now 37, says the pressure and trappings of fame are definitely hard to deal with under the spotlight. What’s worse is being a money-making “product” of media conglomerates.
Kirk has written a book that details having to fire his mother as his personal manager – having to work with the FBI to trap a pedophile who was seeking him out and much more.
I can’t imagine wanting to put my kids in harms way as a childhood star and I don’t think there’s any amount of money that could persuade me to. I guess that’s the difference between those who parent for real and those who would rather give birth to their job.

I don’t think there are many parents who had their child purely to try and raise them up as a child star. If my kids were able to get a break on TV or something and become a star and they wanted to do it, I’d support them completely. The difference is I wouldn’t stop parenting them. You’d probably find the same struggles if it were possible for a “child” to become a CEO or professional sports athlete at a young age as well.
Teenagers should never be given the amount of power and influence that people like Miley Cyrus have. They can’t be expected to handle it well, and their parents can only do so much.
I haven’t seen Kirk’s lady dresses or behaves like B.Spears.
But Leanna Creel previously dated at least four years…has been wearing tye-dye shirts, large hoop earrings and very fun type.
thinking two ladies J.Mcullough and C.Noble has split Leanna Creel and Kirk. And just maybe responsible for not understanding the word “Christian” It was the year of 1988 event that these two ladies were there on the same night of Kirk and Leanna dating.
I understand what Kirk is saying, but if it weren’t for him child acting – he wouldn’t have the money he has now to raise his children in the lap of luxery. I doubt that he would have adopted 4 children and had 2 more if he were just like the rest of us middle class people. He should appreciate the privledge that he was given.
Judging others is a sin too. All sins are equal in God’s eyes.
