American Idol winner, Kris Allen, sang the Star Spangled Banner at the NBA Finals this weekend and I think he did a really good job. I think the key might have been a little low for him but, aside from that, he seemed to deliver an understated and heartfelt performance.

I hope that Kris stays exactly how he is. He’s got on the simplest outfit you could ever find despite the fact that he’s just won the biggest talent show in the world and, of course, he must know that women think he’s gorgeous! None of that seems to matter as much to him as his music and I really applaud that. Anyway, here’s the video – check it out and tell me what you think:
Wow. That was the worst vocals, the worst outfit, bad, bad, bad.
Is it just me or does Kris do his mouth really funny when he sings. It is distracting to me. Sorry, but I don’t think he did a good job on this song. He couldn’t go low and his high notes sounded like he was straining.
I would like to add that I loved Kris on AI and I hope he has lots of success. He is very cute and has a great voice but I think he may have been a bit nervous.
