In what many would consider a surprise ending, Kris Allen was crowned the winner of the eighth season of American Idol. For weeks, it seemed that Adam Lambert had the competition locked up but, in the end, he did not win. If you were shocked, take a look at Kris’ face when the announcement was made (stunned Kris even said that he thought Adam should have won).
It seemed that Adam was happy for Kris and I am pretty confident that both of them will go on to have successful careers. This was one season where I really would have been happy either way. What did you think of the finale? Leave me a comment and check out these other “winners moment” pictures!

I live in Korea and have been following Idol from the Internet. I can’t believe it either. I was sure Adam was going to win!! Kris isn’t a bad singer but the 3rd song was not good at all!!

I was hoping kris would win and knew the possible that he might win. Nothing is guaranteed. Kris was just as good as Adam. I love kris the best, others loved Adam. If Kris wasn’t good he wouldn’t gotten any votes, somebody thought he was good enough. Also American Idol season 8 was better then the American Music Awards.

Sad as it is I think the lack of clarity on the sexual orientation issue really hurt Adam in the end.

What’s with all the homophobes? One’s sexuality has nothing to do with one’s talent although gay people are often extremely talented.
I think Adam’s version of “No Boundaries” runs rings round Kris’ version even though Kris’ version is nice. Adam is a star and I hope he goes far, and I wish Kris all the best too.

Each year we all have our favorite contestant(s) and each year someone’s fans are upset by the results. AI is so popular, IMO, because of the diverse musical styles. People are only surprised or feel Adam was robbed IF they are fans of Adam. Not every one liked the over-the-top, screaming, theatrics. Kris was the first named to the top 3 with only 1m votes separating the top 2 and they didn’t say which one had more than the other. Yes, Kris was shocked last night but ADAM said “this is the man” gesturing towards Kris last week after they became the finalist. Both guys are talented with different styles and each with their own fans. My entire family favored Kris all season. Kris won because he got more votes. End of story. I think they will both do just fine in the entertainment world.

P.S. Also, IMO, I do not feel in this day and time that people are concerned with the real or rumored sexual preferences of entertainers. They either like what they see and hear or they don’t.

ABSOLUTE FREAKING JOKE that Kris won! Adam should have won – OMG this is such a joke! Kris’ “winner’s single” sounded horrible. Even David Cook is 100% more talented than Kris. WORST result ever in the history of the show! still can’t believe it!! He shouldn’t have even made it past 4th – both Allison and Danny are so much more talented than him… absolute joke!

LOVE Adam’s version of “No Boundaries”. It’s FANTASTIC! I tried to like Kris’s version and while it isn’t terrible, it isn’t anything special although he has a nice voice. However, Adam just has the ‘edge’. He’s an exciting and very talented performer.
