Krysten Ritter in "Gossip Girl" Spin-Off

Krysten Ritter (Lucy on Gilmore Girls) has been cast in the new Gossip Girl spin-off! The new series will be a prequel to the current Gossip Girl series and will take place in the 1980s in LA.

Krysten Ritter will play Carol Rhodes in the spin-off, which will debut on May 11th during a flashback sequence in the second-to-last episode of Gossip Girl this season. Carol Rhodes is the older sister of Lily (who we know as Serena’s mom Lily van der Woodsen in Gossip Girl); Carol takes in her younger sister when she moves out of her family home.

Carol Rhodes is the “outcast” sister who lives in LA. The Rhodes family is very wealthy and lives a posh lifestyle – something Carol and now Lily have shunned. Lily, still a teen, will have to shift gears from private school life to that of a public school girl. So far we don’t know any of other actors or the title of the new Gossip Girl spin-off.

Krysten Ritter also stars in the upcoming movie Confessions of a Shopaholic (premiere photos from February 6th in this post) and will join the cast of AMC’s Breaking Bad for a recurring guest role as part of Season 2 this March.
