Lakisha Jones Joins “The Color Purple”

American Idol season 6 contestant, Lakisha Jones, will be making her Broadway debut alongside Grammy winner, Chaka Khan, on January 9th, 2008.

Chaka Khan will portray “Sofia” opposite BeBe Winans’ “Harpo.”

Lakisha has been cast in the role of the church soloist at all evening performances, but will play Sofia during matinees.

This is a fantastic opportunity for Lakisha and I’m really happy for her!
