Lauren Graham and her The Answer Man co-star Jeff Daniels were on The View this morning to talk about their movie. Lauren was previously on The View in April to talk about Guys and Dolls.
The interview is just under 7 minutes long, which isn’t much, particularly when shared between two actors. The interview starts off with Jeff Daniels’ Broadway work, then about Lauren’s experience, which was exactly the same, minus the Tony Awards and closing early. Nice quip. They don’t start talking about The Answer Man until about 4 minutes into the interview.
In the movie, Lauren’s character is one of the few people who doesn’t recognize the name of Arlen Faber, the famous author. So, Lauren describes the movie as being somewhat about “what happens when you lose yourself in your own hype.”
Lauren shares in the interview about the first time she met The Answer Man writer/director John Hindman, and how he told her he was a big Gilmore Girls fan! And he’s proud of it too (yay John!). John is in the audience as Lauren describes how he only wanted to talk about Gilmore Girls while she just wanted to talk about his project ;) Apparently, many years back, before he made his big break with this film, John had been Lauren’s waiter at a restaurant and he’d also told her then how much he loved Gilmore Girls. How sweet!

Just in case we haven’t had our share of lauren this past week, here is another interview.

I don’t think the producers of The View are very good at allocating time.
They often never have time for their guests. Sometimes, 5 hosts is way too much.
Agreed, way too short of an interview for two guests! But I don’t think it’s that Lauren forgets about projects once they’re over, I just think it seems like she’s the type of person who wouldn’t dwell on it. I’m sure she was disappointed that her show ended early her first time on Broadway, but she’s in show business and is used to that kind of thing happening. Especially since she started out doing so many pilots that never got picked up or were cancelled after a few episodes. Watch the Chatterbox interview if you haven’t already, it’s a good interview and she talks about her experience in Guys and Dolls, among many other things.
Short interview! Come on, two guests, less than seven minutes… That hardly counts as an interview! And it was all about Jeff… Not I don’t like hearing about his play on Broadway, but it was Lauren’s debut on Broadway, her first experience, I sooooo wanted to hear more about that.
And is it me or Lauren is a “carpe diem” kind of person? Once something’s over, she doesn’t think about it anymore… Guys and Dolls, yeah, and now we are closed… That’s all! No more comments no more nothing… :(
Nice. And hearing about Luke… sigh.
Jeff sound like such a nice man
I love her outfit, it’s very cute! Good interview, thanks for posting!!
