In the latest Ask Ausiello column, Michael Ausiello reveals one final hold-back tidbit from the fantastic interview he had with Lauren Graham last week.
The piece of news had to do with Lauren Graham’s holding deal with NBC. This was a 7-figure development deal with NBC for Lauren to develop a new series with the network. Ausiello asked what happened with that deal and why it went sour last year. Lauren says:
“It was [a casualty of the] strike, really. I really liked them. I love their comedies. But during the time before the strike, nothing had gelled. And nobody knew how long that was going to last. I couldn’t meet with writers, which is what I was being paid to do. It was a very amicable split.”
This was news we guessed a long time ago, as the Writers Guild Association (WGA) strike affected many deals at that time.
Sad as that may be (I do like NBC for comedy shows), Lauren Graham is currently working with ABC to develop a new comedy series about a self-help guru who doesn’t really follow her own advice. You can learn more in this post or in Lauren’s interview with Ausiello.

It would have been great to see Lauren in a 30 rock or The Office kind of show but anyway I hope her new show with ABC will do well
