Lauren Graham’s ReelTalk Interview

Lauren Graham sat down with ReelTalk to talk about Guys and Dolls and about the differences in working in theater vs television. Guys and Dolls runs 8 performances per week, so if you’re sick in theater, people really notice it. You can’t just cover it with makeup or something.

Lauren also says that her experience on Broadway has been “more gratifying” than her television experience. Lauren was asked if she was ever sick on Gilmore Girls, and Lauren says yes, all the time. That said, she never missed a day in 7 years! “In both cases, the show must go on!” The interview seems like it may have been longer, but that’s all I could find.

And in other video news, here’s another candid video of Lauren Graham outside the stage door for Guys and Dolls. There were lots of fans waiting, which was a little overwhelming to the tired Lauren. She opted to give a speech of her thanks and pose for photos rather than sign everyones autographs:

I noticed a few times when she looked a little “off” when her face was a little puffy or she wore her glasses. Also, her voice would be a little muffled every once in a while.

I read somewhere that LG was sick while shooting the episode 17 of season 5, Pulp Friction, the one of the reconciliation between Lorelai and Luke.
That was given as an explaination as to why there had been no long kisses between them then.

Thank you for the clip from the ReelTalk interview. I would really love to see the whole thing. I wonder what episodes of Gilmore Girls she was sick while doing. She never looked sick to me in any of them. I love all of the clips and pictures that everyone has been posting of their experience of seeing Lauren at the stage door of Guys and Dolls. I wish that I could be one of those lucky people, but since I can’t, I love seeing and hearing about everyone elses chance of doing so and would like to thank everyone for sharing their experience with us.
