Okay, so that’s not really happening.
But considering all of the buzz surrounding Leighton Meester’s upcoming album (can she sing? will there be a video?), I thought it would be fun to speculate.
If the cast of Gossip Girl paid a visit to American Idol, who would win and which song would they perform?
Which cast member would get voted off first?
Here are my picks:
Winner:
Chace Crawford would win because he would have inside information from Carrie Underwood. He would choose country music since he’s from Texas – perhaps “Friends in Low Places” because it’s a fun show with easy lyrics.
Voted off first:
Penn Badgley would lose. He may be cute, but I get a nerdy, goofy, can’t sing/can’t dance vibe from him. But then, I got the same vibe from Clay Aiken and it worked for him, so what do I know?

I don’t know how easy “Friends in Low Places” is – that “Social Graces” bit can be tricky.
I disagree- I actually think that Penn would win. He had a pop single when he was younger, which is an indication that he has some talent as a singer and he plays the guitar… Not many girls can resist that!
