LeToya Luckett Talks About Solange Knowles Comparison

Former member of Destiny’s Child, LeToya Luckett was interviewed by Honey magazine recently. She asked about her new album and success as  well as the talk that she stole Solange Knowles’s throwback style idea in her  ALO-057320 music video for “Not Anymore.”

When asked about what she thought of the comparisons made between R&B artists like Beyoncé, Ciara, Rihanna, and Keri Hilson she says there is always going to be similarities but that people are continually going to talk and make it something it isn’t.

When the topic of her possibly being inspired by Solange’s throwback style came up, she says:

Actually, the treatment was created by Bryan Barber and the reason that I picked his was because it was very different from the others.  It showcased me more in a positive light then sad, Woe-is-me. Oh, he-did-me-wrong. At the same time, I think that Solange is a very talented. I love how creative she’s been with everything. She’s stepping out and doing her own thing and I’m very proud of her.

I’m happy for LeToya! Her song “Not Anymore” has been doing pretty well on the radio. Did you know that she is the only member of Destiny’s Child to debut a solo album at #1 on the Billboard 200?
