Lindsay Lohan has joined Jack Black in a new comedy, Ye Olde Times. Lindsay’s new A-list movie role will start filming this April.
The Patriot Pictures film will follow to rival Renaissance Faire troupes that make their way through the competitive fair circuit. One rag-tag theatre troupe is about to lose its gig at Ye Olde Times Renaissance Faire after the owners of the Faire threaten to hand over the stage to a rival troupe of more conceited, classically trained Shakespearean actors. The ‘gonzo group’ must revive their act and get help from an ‘unexpected source’ to do so: 2 new backstage hands – a young actor and actress who must overcome subterfuge to prove their worth, win the day, and perhaps fall in love.
Lindsay has landed a lead role in the film, but it is unclear if she will be in the same, or competing, troupe to Jack Black. I am guessing, however, that Lindsay is the "young actress" described above. Ye Olde Times is described as a film kind of marrying Shakespeare in Love and Meatballs.
The movie also stars Cary Elwes, Missi Pyle, Will Arnett, Matthew Lillard, David Arquette, and Jason Bateman. Tim Robbins will have a cameo appearance. Ye Olde Times may be directed by R.A. White, a director not on Film.com’s list of recommended directors for Lindsay, but I’m guessing this will be a great film for Lindsay’s career.

i know this is a little off-topic,but it still is movie related.i am boycotting the oscars this year because they have that two-faced tramp miley cyrus as a presenter.puh-leeze,she has no personality,dead eyes like megan fox,and is a hypocrite,as she likes to get wild,and still present a goody two-shoes image.anyway,i am a bit ticked off,as Lindsay was not invited to the feb05 oscars,either as a guest or presenter,and SHE OWNED 2004,AS THE NO.1 CELEBRITY OF 2004,and Mean Girls was one of the highest grossing movies,in budget vs. box office take,and the academy snubbed her,and every year since.i’ll tell you why,because when Lindsay goes anywhere,ALL the attention and cameras shift to her.can you imagine a huge room filled with the top a-list actors and celebrities,then suddenly all the cameras move to follow a single person entering?the academy can’t have her upstaging their whole lame show,because that’s what would happen.the oscars are so boring,and Lindsay would light up the whole show,steal everybodys thunder and airtime,and we,the fans,would relish the spectacle.take that haters.

Anyway I’m glad that she’s back on another project. And by the look of the cast it sounds as a promissing one.

Dave, wikipedia says that chapter 27 will see US theatrical release in March of 2008 and wikipedia also says in Entertainment Weekly’s 2008 Spring movie preview the release date for Chapter 27 was listed as March 28, 2008.

it will be great to see Lindsay back on the movie set,showcasing more of that great talent,hopefully acting,singing,and dancing,doing the triple threat thing like she did in ‘confessions of a teenage drama queen’.no matter how many great things she does in her personal life,how many photoshoots she does,or appearences she makes,the fickle public will not let her past fade away until she has a bona fide hit movie,or perhaps a couple of hit movies,so i sincerely wish her well on her new career endeavors,and will support her at the box office,record store,magazine rack,wherever.love you,Lindsay.
