Lionel Richie Performs at Michael Jackson Memorial

Nicole Richie’s father, Lionel Richie, paid tribute to Michael Jackson yesterday, singing at the Memorial Service held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Lionel performed “Jesus is Love” in classic sermon style, backed by a choir in a very moving performance.

Lionel Richie was a long-time friend of Michael Jackson and of the Jackson family, originally starting his career with the Commodores, which was schooled as a support act to the Jackson Five. In 1985, Lionel and Michael Jackson co-wrote the hit single “We Are The World.”
