Live Blogging: Driving Miss Gilmore

Lorelai, Rory and Emily are arguing about hair color at Friday night dinner.  Emily says:

"alright that’s it, no more spaghetti and meatballs!"

and has the servant take away their plates.  She says every time they have spaghetti and Meatballs they fight. 

"Spaghetti and meatballs is just too much excitement." says Emily. 

Richard comes in and asks where his food is, Emily says "Spaghetti and Meatballs". Richard says something like I told you not to make spaghetti and meatballs…

Emily says she’s having laser surgery on her eyes. Apparently the doctor who’s doing it is handsome.  They call him Dr. Handsome, making Richard very uncomfortable. Moreover, Emily wants to get a new outfit for her surgery. hee hee.

They change the subject and then say they got together with Rory’s dad Christopher and had lunch with him.  They say now he’s going to involved in their lives.  they’re going to donate the money they were going to give Rory for her tuition to Yale in her name.  They start listing off places on campus they could name.  Rory Gilmore Library, etc.

Rory is rolling Logan out of the hospital going over with the doctor about his condition and what he’s allowed to eat and do.  Logan is whining.  Rory is really fussing over Logan.  Logan says something’s going on here and then grabs her to kiss her.

Michel is yelling at someone on the phone while prancing in the kitchen of the Dragonfly.  Lorelai tells him to stop.  He’s mad because he’s been buying 2% milk instead of skim.  Now he thinks he needs to bounce and burn off the extra calories.  He’s going to have 2% fat withdrawal.

Lorelai gets a call from Luke.  He says they’ve been missing each other lately.  He asks if she’s heading by the diner later that night.  She says she can’t because there’s a staff meeting.  Sookie and Michel overhear and get really upset.  She made it up…avoiding him!  :(  She hangs up and Sookie starts complaining about not being able to get a good babysitter.  Lorelai says there’s no staff meeting.  Jackson runs in and says he needs to talk to Sookie alone.  He asks what he smells like.  She says what is that?  Apparently at the back of their garden the Templeton brother have planted weed.  A full half acre of marijuana.  They decide to use pickles as the code word for pot.  hehe. Jackson walks out trying to be cool but knocks over someone’s food in the restaurant.

Stars Hollow’s troubadour is playing "Me and Julio" by Paul Simon.  Luke is asking Kirk what he wants to eat.  Kirk is annoying then Liz shows up.  Liz says the jewelry business is doing really well.  She has big exciting news.  She’s pregnant and over the moon!  She’s planning on doing all kinds of healthy things while pregnant like not binge drinking.  She says TJ is gone, and Luke’s asking about it and Liz asks if he has any Matza Brei.  Luke says no and continues to ask about TJ.  Luke’s getting really mad, but Liz is calm about it.

Paris is at Logan’s apartment looking after him and studying.  Then he notices that Paris’ boyfriend Doyle is also there.  Logan tries to get up to use the bathroom and Paris says he’s not allowed to.  Paris asks if he has a bed pan.  Logan calls Rory to tell Paris to leave.  He tells her that they’re looking for a bedpan.  Logan says that the doctor said he should get up if he feels like it.  She says I don’t know.  He says, "You think a Johns Hopkins grad knows less than you?"  Paris comes by with two Tupperware.  Then he passes the phone to Paris and tells her to step down and get Doyle to give his shoulder to help Logan get to the bathroom.

One of Rory’s fellow newspaper guys comes to show her something in the paper that makes her upset.

Cut to the Inn.  Michel is being weird and then Lorelai gets a call from Emily.  The laser surgery went bad.  She can’t see anything and she’s on pain killers.  Richard is out of town so Lorelai needs to go help Emily.  Richard calls and tells her to take care of her.  She pulls the guilt trip about having 14 hours of labor and then Lorelai leaves to help her.

Jackson and Sookie are freaking out about not knowing where to put the pickles.  hehe.  They don’t want to burn it because they’ll get the whole town high.  Sookie says she could bake it into brownies.  He says no.  They want to get it out of the house but will wait till dark.

Rory is pissed off talking about wanting to hurt someone in various ways to Logan.  The Wall Street Journal has an article mentioning that Logan’s dad is sitting Rory as one of his accomplishments, but she’s mad about it.

Lorelai goes in to find her mother who’s wearing glasses and upset.  She says the procedure was dreadful.  She calls the doctor, Dr. Mengele.  Not FUNNY!  I’m pissed off at Gilmore girls writers!  He was a Nazi Dr. who performed extremely cruel experiments at Auschwitz Concentration camp.  I can’t believe they wrote that!

Anyway…She’s upset about the people Richard left to take care of her.  She asks Lorelai to drive her around to do her errands.  Lorelai doesn’t want to take her with her, but Emily won’t have it.  They’re leaving the house and want to put her into Lorelai’s jeep and Emily says no, she ordered a car that JayZee uses with the darkest windows.  hehe.  She’s going to make Lorelai drive the fancy car.

Luke walks into a bar where TJ works.  TJ says hi but Luke says that he’s only there to punch him out.  TJ says he wishes he was more drunk so it would hurt less.  TJ won’t raise his arms so Luke doesn’t want to hit him.  TJ says what the hell is this about?  He says, "you walked out on her!"  Luke says he abandoned Liz, TJ says that Liz kicked him out shortly after she told him that she was pregnant.  She’s worried that TJ won’t be a good parent.  Aww, poor TJ.  Luke sits down and orders a beer.  Luke says that Liz is worried that she’s going to screw up the baby and just took it out on TJ.  Luke’s acting like he knows something about relationships, giving TJ advice that he should actually be taking himself for his relationship with Lorelai.

Lorelai is driving a "missile silo" down the street and cars are honking at her.  Emily won’t tell her where they’re going.  Emily only wants non generic drugs.  Emily asks if she had talked to Chris lately. Lorelai says no, Emily says I have and comments on how he looks good, isn’t dating anyone and lonely.  She wants to set him up with a nice girl.  Emily keeps bringing up women and Lorelai points out the faults of each one.  What’s Emily up to?  Hmm…trying to get Lorelai jealous I guess.  Lorelai says Christopher can get his own girls. 

Rory is at the paper call the person who wrote the article.  She wants a retraction on what Huntsberger said about her.  The woman says she won’t do it.  Rory says that it will be thrown out the next day, the woman says she’s hoping that her work isn’t thrown out.

Liz and her friends are bitching at Luke’s place.  Luke walks in upset and interrupts Liz and pulls her to the side.  He asks who the women are, she says a support group of single moms.  Luke says you’re going to be a great mom to this kid.  He tells her to put her fears aside and she can do it.  He says she’s got a great guy.  He’s standing outside.  Luke tells her to make up with him and go home with TJ.  She’s happy and runs out to him.  They kiss.

Lorelai is still driving the SUV.  Lorelai was upset that she had to stand around while Emily got a manicure.  They stop at a real estate office.  Emily won’t tell her why they’re there.  Emily walks in and makes obnoxious remarks.  They’re there to look at a presentation.  The agent is really excited about the house she’s showing Emily. Lorelai asks why she’s looking at the house.  Emily asks her what she thinks.  The house is for Lorelai and Luke.  Aww! That’s so sweet!  It has stables!  I guess that’s why they were looking at houses.  Aww…Lorelai gets emotional.  She loves the house.  She starts to cry and says it’s not going to happen. 

"Luke and I, the wedding, it’s not going to happen."

Emily gets up to pat her back.

Jackson and Sookie are running through the street with bags full of Weed.  hehe.  They bump into the troubadour who’s excited because he’s going to open up for Neil Young.  Sookie says they should give the pickles to him, but Jackson says he’s sure he has his own connections.  Sookie says oh yeah Neil Young.  hehe.  Then they bump into the town priest and rabbi who ask them to join in their discussion, they run away and continue dragging the bags of weed.

Lorelai shows up at Sookie and Jackson’s place.  "What’s that smell?" "68 pounds of marijuana".  It ends without Lalas.  :(
