Watching the video of Lucky by Jason Mraz featuring Colbie Caillat, I could feel a deep connection and chemistry between the two. Their soft voices complemented each other. Even though the story is that they’re too far away from each other, there is that "love" between them just waiting to erupt, oceans apart.
Jason Mraz shared in a VH1 interview that there’s actually a different ending to this video but it didn’t make it to the final cut. It’s actually a good concept because in the ending there was supposed to be a woman with him in Prague and a man on the beach with Colbie. So then we’d be like, "oh, they’re not singing the song to each other", they’re both with other people, respectively. I can understand why it didn’t make it though. It would’ve played with the fans’ emotions. It is much better to think that Jason is singing to Colbie from Prague, while Colbie is singing to Jason from the beach. It makes us think they’re actually a couple
