‘Mad Men’ Barbies, Martinis Not Included

You’ll soon be able to own mini versions of Don Draper, Betty Draper, Roger Sterling, and Joan Holloway, as the four Mad Men characters are being made into Barbies by Mattel. Unfortunately, however, the New York Times reports that “The dolls come with period accessories like hats, overcoats, pearls and padded undergarments, but no cigarettes, ashtrays, martini glasses or cocktail shakers.” Buzzkills. This month, for the Haute Doll Magazine March/April issue (www.hautedoll.com), I collaborated with some One-Of-A-Kind doll artists to create our own custom MAD MEN dolls, wearing fashions directly from the TV show, along with an amazingly detailed miniature diorama of Don Draper’s office (COMPLETE with cocktails and cigarettes).
