Mädchen Amick moves on to My Own Worst Enemy

madchen-amick-my-own-worst-enemy-gossip-girl.JPGGuest star Mädchen Amick, who played the married cougar Catherine (a.k.a. The Duchess) who chased — and pretty much owned Nate (Chace Crawford) since Season 2 of Gossip Girl started, has moved over to her new TV show, My Own Worst Enemy with Christian Slater.

In the last Gossip Girl episode, “The Ex-Files,” Blair (Leighton Meester) forced Catherine and her stepson Lord Marcus (Patrick Heusinger) to leave town, after Vanessa (Jessica Szohr) catches a glimpse of Catherine in an intimate moment with her stepson!

Only Vanessa wasn’t sure that Blair was going to confront Catherine, so she prematurely exposed the affair to Catherine’s husband. This makes Catherine withdraw her deal to pay off Nate’s debts — ticking off Blair and putting a rift between Nate and Vanessa.

Nate started off Season 2 hot and heavy for Catherine, but soon he felt forced and wanted out, but Catherine seemed almost obsessed with her new boy toy, not wanting him to share him with anyone else — especially Vanessa.

Personally, I will miss Catherine’s character on the show as she definitely added drama.

On My Own Worst Enemy, Amick plays a completely different character — Angie Spivey, the surburban wife of Henry (Slater), originally cast as Yara Martinez.

On the show, Christian Slater is both Henry Spivey and Edward Albright, a man who doesn’t realize (at first) that he is actually has two very different lives (a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde complex) — an average family man on one side, a trained operative who speaks 13 languages on the other side.

Henry is an efficiency expert who lives with his wife (Amick), their two kids, a dog and of course, a mini van.

Edward is trained to kill, working at Janus Headquarters for Mavis Heller (Alfre Woodward, Desperate Housewives).

While Henry and Edward are polar opposites — they share the same body.

Tom Grady (Mike O’Malley, Yes, Dear) is Henry’s best friend and a co-worker with an alter ego named Raymond, a violent secret agent. Dr. Norah Skinner (Saffron Burrows, The Bank Job) is the psychologist who is in tune with the inner workings of both Edward and Henry.

My Own Worst Enemy will premiere Monday, October 13 at 9 p.m. CST on NBC.
