She may be from a devoutly Catholic family, but that fact has not to deterred Madonna from courting controversy at every opportunity. In fact, Madge has had a combative relationship with the Catholic church since they lobbied criticism at her for the 1989 “Like a Prayer” video. In 2006, the mock crucifixion raised Vatican ire as blasphemous and “one of the most satanic shows in history.”
This is obviously her way of lashing back.
