I don’t know about you, but the words "butter" and "beer" kind of gross me out. Yet, there we have it many times in the Harry Potter books – Harry, Ron, and Hermione sneaking to Hogsmeade where one of the main attractions seems to be scoring some butterbeer. Here’s how you can make it yourself:
Ingredients:
- 1 cup (8 oz) club soda or cream soda
- ½ cup (4 oz) butterscotch syrup (ice cream topping)
- ½ tablespoon butter
Directions:
Step 1: Measure butterscotch and butter into a 2 cup (16 oz) glass. Microwave on high for 1 to 1½ minutes, or until syrup is bubbly and butter is completely incorporated.
Step 2: Stir and cool for 30 seconds, then slowly mix in club soda. Mixture will fizz quite a bit.
Step 3: Serve in two coffee mugs or small glasses; a perfectly warm Hogwarts treat for two!

OMG, can you list all of the weird cakes and candies in HP and tell me what they are? Some are real and some not, but the cultural references are just over my head.

Okay…. well, i think it tastes really great with cheese, but this is a great recipe too! Try it! It’s delicious and fun to make a mythical drink!

Well, I love this stuff… I made mine with cream soda.. tastes better that way. I live in London and my mum and I drink this quite a bit now
I hear in the Harry Potter World, it’s cold, but it gives you a warm felling inside. It’s a winter drink. Refreshing.
I made it, using the cream soda. It’s faaar too sweet for me. The butterscotch makes it taste a bit odd. I don’t know… maybe I did something wrong…? Anyways, I still felt far beyond cool telling people I drank butterbeer. XD
