Another cast member has been announced for the Tom Cruise/Cameron Diaz film “Wichita”. Marc Blucas has been cast and joins Tom, Cameron and the latest cast member Maggie Grace.

Marc is known from his days on “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and will play Cameron Diaz’s ex-boyfriend. Cameron plays the “upbeat Midwestern woman who goes on a blind date with a man (Cruise) who turns out to be a federal agent. She gets pulled into a violent worldwide journey to protect a powerful battery that holds the key to an infinite power source.”

Slashfilm has some spoilerish set details that I will highlight below the cut. Don’t look if you don’t like spoilers!!

Steve Cannaby, who is working on a plane that’s being built for the movie had this to say: “They’re doing an action scene in a … 727 cockpit. There’s some sort of a, like, shoot-out or something that’s supposed to happen in the cockpit”.

There’s a more detailed article here which goes into more detail about how the plane is being built, how they’ll move it, etc.

Reports are also saying that there will be a big chase scene on the Charles River where it winds between Boston and Cambridge. You can read more details here.

So, so far we know that the film will be shot some in Wichita, some in Indiana and some in Boston. We know that a commercial 727 will crash and that there will be a chase scene down the river. I think this is shaping up to be one action-filled film.

Ironically Marc Blucas played Katie’s love interest in their movie “The President’s Daughter”.
