Matt and Becki are very close and the best of friends, and it's great that this Ugly Betty role has allowed them to work on the same set. (I'm also pretty sure he had to go through the audition process!) By the way, they are sweet and generous people. I, for one, hope it will be a recurring role! But I am sure that it is not just nepotism that got him the part. I'm pretty sure that the role was posted by the casting department. I saw a casting call for this episode for a character named Troy, whom I am presuming is Matt Newton's character. He probably had to test for it, like anyone else. His acting is very impressive. His character in that episode of "Strangers with Candy" was a blind high school student and Matt was SO convincing that I felt certain that they had cast a blind actor in the role.
