Maria Lark Adoption Month Interview

maria larkIn case you missed the comment, I thought I’d spotlight this as a new post. Elyse Wilk has done a wonderful interview with Maria Lark and her mom, Peggy Lark. I am so impressed with how Peggy Lark is raising her daughter. The whole interview made me see how careful she is to make sure Maria gets to be as normal as a child who is on a hit t.v. show can be. They are so lucky to have found each other.

That is a great article, Katelyn! Thanks for sharing. It’s great to read such warm and wonderful stories about people in Hollywood, especially young people, when all you hear all the time is about the ones who are getting arrested, or are in and out of rehab. It’s great to see that Maria’s mom is keeping her so grounded and normal. That’s very important, especially for someone in her profession. I think she will do very well for herself.

Who knows, we may even see her on Broadway singing in her mother’s musical production?

That’s a fantastic article! Maria comes across as a very extraordinary young girl in her portrayal of Bridgette. I remember in either the season 1 or season 2 extras of the DVD sets, they asked David Cubitt about the girls on the show and he mentioned that were terrific and that he had met and spoken with their mothers and they were very bright, intelligent women! What a classy guy, too, huh?

Let’s hope Maria can stay grounded as she grows older – she’s got a good start so far.

Wow, do I have a story for you guys. Over the summer I wrote a letter to the folks at Medium, telling them how much I love their show, ect. ect. Today I got this envelope in the mail, which I thought was weired because I haven’t ordered anything. I opened it and it was a signed photo photograph from Sofia Vassilieva!!! It is so cool, it says, ” To Holly Love Sofia Vassilieva.”

I’m so excited. I’ve never gotten anything back from fan mail I’ve sent before!

Wow, that is so cool, Holly! And so funny too, because I also wrote a letter back in the spring to Patricia Arquette telling her how much I loved the show and her work, and even though I wasn’t expecting anything, a few weeks ago, I got a signed photo in the mail from her. But it wasn’t personalized like yours, darnit! Anyway, I’m sure Patricia gets a lot more fan mail and just doesn’t have time to sit down and personalize a photo or write back to every fan who writes to her, but just the fact that she took the time to read my letter and sent something back to me means a lot. And I think it says a lot about her as a person. A lot of celebrities use a fan mail service (including Patricia and David) and a lot of autograph collectors boo and hiss because they won’t sign for each and every person who writes to them. But those people are the very ones who are making a profit off of people like Patricia and David, and so many other celebrities, and using them to make money. It’s no wonder they don’t sign requests sent through the mail. So just the fact that I got a response at all thrilled me. And it’s great when they do take the time to respond to their fans, even in some small way.

I agree with you all the way! I sent the letter over the summer and really had forgotten about it. Then I saw the picture in the mail and was just amazed. She didn’t have to do anything, but the fact that she did really shows she cares about her fans.
