I love to grill and I love burgers but I don’t usually want to make them with ground beef. I make hamburgers for my husband and my son but my daughters and I prefer to go with a nice chicken or turkey burger. The only thing is that these can be a little dry and I find it a little harder to come up with new ways to prepare them.
I was thrilled when Martha Stewart made some “zesty” chicken burgers on the Today show but I have to say that I’m a little surprised that neither Meredith Vieira nor Matt Lauer had tried a chicken burger before. I normally make mine on the grill but Martha pan-fried hers with a bit of olive oil. She seasoned them with salt and black pepper and then sautéed some onions and poblano peppers. She finished the simple dish by putting a cooked chicken patty on a bun with cheddar cheese and then topped it with the onions and peppers. It looked so delicious!
