Mary-Kate Olsen’s interesting combination of loose dress, clutch and headband was a result of having nothing to wear, she told WWD.

She had just come from a photo shoot to go to the New Yorkers for Children celebration of ‘New Year’s in April: A Fool’s Fete’, which left no time for a wardrobe change. So she simple borrowed the headband by Marc Jacobs, the shoes by Yves Saint Laurent and the dress and headed to the event!
When asked about the outfit, MK just shrugged. “I had nothing to wear,” she said.

I know the headband is from her spread in Elle so its probably true

fuck the outfit she’s mary-kate olsen she can wear anything and I don’t think this is sooooo bad why does everyone exaggerate so much it’s just an outfit and she doesn’t have to explain anything :)

I think what she meant was that she was at the photo shoot and it ran long or something. so instead of going home and getting changed, she just grabbed whatever from the photo shoot.

hate it.. Omg i hate the outfit so bad… and look at that fur thing on the head. It’s awful and disgusting. Poor little innocent animal.

yea, she does try too hard sometimes…especially with the rock n roll attitude, “I don’t care what I what I’m wearing”…it doesn’t feel geniune, but i still love her.
I think she probably knew she was going to this event weeks ago and of course she has several clothing lines and a bank account which would open any store for her. She is a good friend of one of the missoni girls and stayed at her apartment in Paris with Derek Blasberg while at Paris fashion week. Missoni (the dress that just happen to be lying around) was also the sponsor of the event.
I think she trys too much to be different and look like she threw together an outfit sometimes – it works better with casual clothes rather than event clothes – when she does it well she looks amazing.
if she had nothing to wear, she should’ve just shown up with a simple tee. haha, no one’s gonna agree on me on that one, but she had time to put on a headband…

and we should be sure i’s gonna be the new
fashion in 1 or two year from now ;)
