Matt Czuchry is the first to say how great his role as Logan has been… both as a great role, and also as a great break into the acting world…
When college senior Matt Czuchry told his parents he wanted to be an actor, he was the one to point out it might not be a good idea.
“I was actually the one saying I should go on to law school,” Czuchry recalls. “They were the ones who told me I should go ahead and act.”
His parents knew best. After five years of struggling, Czuchry was cast last year in the pivotal role of Logan Huntzberger on the WB family drama, “The Gilmore Girls,” which airs Tuesdays.
Logan is the blue-blooded beau of central character Rory Gilmore (Alexis Bledel). The role was intended to be short-term. But here he is, walking the red carpet, having photographers yell out his name and setting the hearts of the WB aflutter.
“When you play one of these parts — as a boyfriend — it can be for one episode or two, but in his case it’s a second season,” says “Gilmore” star Lauren Graham, who plays Lorelai Gilmore.
But, as we see, he’s been one of the most pivotal characters in two seasons now. He helped Rory break out of her shell, even if that break was a disastrous one.
“He’s made his mark as a good actor. He’s someone very special. He made that nice impact, and that’s why he is still on the show.”
In the past year, Czuchry has gone from unknown to magazine-cover star.
“To come into (‘Gilmore’) and be a part of that was very surreal and fantastic in the same time,” the 28-year-old says. “The day-to-day aspects of my life have been the same, but it’s the exterior things that have changed.
“It’s things like being recognized or being on the cover of TV Guide. These are kind of large things that you can never prepare for. They just kind of happen. It’s a beautiful thing … but life is not all about those things.”
Czuchry’s fame comes after years of struggling as just another actor in Hollywood. His resume is filled with brief roles on briefer shows such as “Jake 2.0,” “Hack,” “Young Americans” and “Freaks and Geeks.”
There were stretches when parts weren’t coming. But financial support from his parents kept him from having to become just another waiter in Hollywood with big dreams.
When Czuchry auditioned for Logan, he was already a fan of the show, and he says that helped him nail the part.
“I knew from my audition scene that (Logan) was going to be the opposite of Rory, and I knew (how to play) that,” he says. Logan “pushes Rory to (feel) the same way. He’s pushing her to live life more spontaneously.”
“Gilmore” is the first established hit of which Czuchry has been a part.
The Tennessee native attended the College of Charleston in South Carolina, where he studied history and political science. Acting didn’t appear to be on the radar at all — at least that’s what his family thought…

heyy!! i love gilmore girls, are logan (matt) you are fantastic!! you are so hot and honestly i think that a LOT more girls watch it since you’ve come onto the show. Good job, and keep the show going-its great.
I have to agree with the others that say he is too cute. I am a mother of three little kids and he makes my heart pound. without him this show would go down the tubes. Rory would be so lucky to end up with him for good. I would take him in a heartbeat, if Matt were just like the character he plays. Very Confident and Arrogent at times. Sexy is what you would call it. Just like my husband in his younger years. There’s nothing wrong with that.

I totally agree-Logan is sooo hot and they should not break up cuz then he would be off the show and there would hardley be a reason to watch it- epecially if dean or jess came back into rory’s life i hate them they are so ugly.
If rory and logan break up i seriously think i might cry-it would be awful cuz they are perfect for each other.
Jesss back? He’s a liar and always will be. Logan is in now… and if Jess comes back, then Dean will come back… and then the show will just keep on repeating itself. There is question about a 7th season coming out and if the show is going to end, it’s going to have to end with Rory and Logan being together… or maybe that’s just because I’d like him to end up with me in a my own little utopia… :)

Logan is soo gorgeous!- I love every single episode he’s in. I’ll be very sad IF (hopefully never) leaves the show.
Logan (Matt Czruchy) is a GREAT addition to the GG show. He is easy on the eyes … and he has a great rapport with Rory they make a great couple. I too am disappointed when he is not in the episodes …he is the reason I stared to watch religiously !!
Matt Czuchry is so cute. He is the best Rory’s boyfriend. I want him to be for ever in Gilmore Girls.

I went to school with this asswipe – plays that “Logan” part on Gilmore Girls well for a reason! … I bet you he is still the same jerk that was in high school!!! Be glad that you do NOT know him!!!!

Matt is excellent! Very good non-verbal communication with gestures and expressions. Like his fast-paced conversations. Very believable as Logan. Hope he will continue for a long time!
