After talking with Matt Czuchry about his work on I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell, we chatted about his other work, about Gilmore Girls, and went through a quick round of get-to-know-you questions.
Matt Czuchry mentioned his upcoming USO Tour with the Hollywood Knights, but of course we all want to know what other projects Matt may be working on.
"I have no work map yet," says Matt. "There are two parts to consider: before the movie comes out and after it comes out." Matt says he’s not sure what projects he’ll work on.
When asked what kinds of characters he’d like to play, Matt says it’s hard to think about other roles while immersed in I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell. That said, Matt notes that "I like to seek different projects. From theater to guest arcs on shows I love like Friday Night Lights."
When asked if he’d be back for this season of Friday Night Lights, Matt says no. He says that a lot will make sense to viewers of Friday Night Lights when the season resumes, in terms of why his character is no longer a part of the show.
For those of you familiar with Matt Czuchry’s work, you’ll know he signed on for the pilot of a new show called Gravity. I asked Matt about the status of this project and, despite rumors to the contrary, Matt says "The pilot was never shot." Matt says he was attached to the project to shoot the pilot, but it never made it to that stage. He’s no longer attached to the project. If the pilot were to go forward now, it would be a whole new series of negotiations.
When asked if he was happy with the ending of Gilmore Girls, Matt Czuchry says, "You know, it was hard, creatively. We didn’t know if it was going to be a season finale or a series finale. I think that affected the show. The storylines had an ‘in between’ feeling’. There wasn’t as much closure."
I asked Matt what kind of future he saw for Logan & Rory. Matt says, "It’s hard to say, since the show ended the way it ended. I think Logan was positively changed by her [Rory] and wanted more, but she was not ready for more. It’s hard to say what would have happened."
Did Matt enjoy working on Gilmore Girls? "Yes, of course. I was there three years. It’s a big part of who I am now."
As to whether or not Matt keeps in touch with other Gilmore Girls cast & crew, he says that there are some he keeps in touch with, but others he watches from a distance. "I follow most from a distance. Like Alexis & Lauren, I like to follow what they’re up to."
And the question we all want to know: would Matt come back if Gilmore Girls were to renew or pursue a movie?
"I haven’t heard anything about a movie. If it’s happening, I haven’t been contacted by anyone official," says Matt.

"Uh… that’s a hard one. I’d have to say Blindness." - Where’s your favorite place to travel to?
"Charleston, South Carolina" - What was your worst trip ever?
"Hmm… Charleston, South Carolina. [laughs] No, hmm… I don’t think anything stands out for me as a terrible trip." - Do you have any pet peeves?
"Yeah, I don’t really like the sounds of alarms or phones ringing." - Where do you want to be in 5 years?
"I want to be in a place in my career where I’m doing projects I’m passionate about, and have the opportunity to do projects I’m passionate about."

I always hated Logan and always will!!!!!!!!!! But Matt sounds like such a nice guy!!!!!!!!! He sounds really protective of Lauren and Alexis and I think that is sooooo cute!!!!!!!
Always LOVED LOGAN!!..and ALWAYS WILL!! A great character so right for Rory in every way. Matt is the most sincere, intelligent and classy actor I’ve ever seen. Very impressed with him. He did a great job as the great Logan and really looking forward to the movie. We still miss Logan very much..he was the greatest!!!!

I personally thought Logan was the best for Rory. I never really liked Dean, and Jess was more moody than a girl. Plus he is extremely hot.

i kept watching again and again scenes and episodes in which Matt, who was Logan then was so growing in love with Ace/Rory. I don’t know, I just cant help but I just love to see Matt be with Ace, the way he looked, smiled at, hugged, held and kissed her… it was so loving!
tt’s why i was shocked tt he gave Rory an ultimatum when he proposed to her. i mean, its like he was never serious with any girl before. and with Ace, his romance was just seemingly endless. but yet, being as persistent and authoritative as he is, he dint even persuade Rory and considering him such a smartie, i would think he would totally respect and understand Rory’s need to pursue her dreams( rmb the part that Rory left Yale and how he was talking her into coming bc, knowing tt how much she loved school).
but at the end of the day, i guess all this happened, tt heartbreaking ending and that there wasnt even much desperation and sadness shown from both of them after the break-up, because the script writer must have not been sure if season 7 is the last. thus, ending was abrupt and so i totally hope for season 8 for a proper closure….

Hi everyone ! I love Gilmore girls , but the thing that bothers me the most wast the ending , when Rory said no to Logan and Logan , never tried to get her to stay with her again , the part that i did not like the most was that Logan sucked it up that she said it can’t work out , I got the impression that Logan was a guy who always tried again until rory said okei fine again , he was never the all in or nothing guy , and they were thes best couple thrugh the series , how come he took the no as an anwser ??
I thought that he was always a guy who wanted a yes , and never even believed in a no ! What kind of an person was Logan then ?? Everything is so mixed in my head , i thought always since they got together an started dating that they were going to get married , the ending was dissapointing , at the rory went away anyway , wouldnt it have been better with logan to california then on some kind of online magazine ???
I think that an season 8 would be the best way to get logan and rory together and married and it could even be in europe just so they could be together , i loved them together and hope they will stay together ,
please make a season 8 bacasuse if it has been a TV show than a movie would be not be the best idea .
