I know a lot of you have commented about Maui Fever and very few of those comments are very nice.
Honestly, I couldn’t agree more!
First of all, what is the deal with slinging your swim trunks (are they even called that anymore? Remember when they were called “jammers”?) so low that viewers are exposed to horrifying crackage?
And then there’s the cast!!! Um, if we are to believe MTV, everyone who lives on Maui is white and sports some shade of blonde hair. That’s hardly an accurate portrayal of Hawaii. Sorry to burst everyone’s Laguna Beach bubble.
Finally, DOES ANYONE HAVE A JOB?! All I see is beach time and drink time and hook up time.
The whole show is just kind of disgusting and annoying and hardly worth tuning in for unless it’s to play some sort of drinking game where everyone drinks when one of the cast members pouts.
That’s my take. What’s yours?

The point is Who Cares?!!!!!!!!!!!
Call me Haole u dumb locals … you such an idiot. YOu think you living in Maui for 2 mother fricking makes you a local. please. I agree with kawehilani. You get that girl. Anyways back to the idiot. You stupid or what? You like talk all smack. You think two months relaly is alot of time to be living in Maui for you to make some kind of judgement call saying that this piece of crud portrays da aina in anyway you must be nuts. You better close you waha before someone gives you dirty lickens for reals. You should learn “Nana ka maka; ho`olohe ka pepeiao;
pa`a ka waha.” go look it up if you dont know what if means babooze. And you know what. Just remember you flew here we grew here. Ua mau ke ea o ka `aina i ka pono. And to all you hawaiians from birth and hawaiians at heart ” `Onipa`a.” much love.
Firstly let me say again that maui fever is a stupid and disgraceful show. Also, to everyone in here that keeps saying “its just a tv show get over it”. Well you obviously do not understand the life and culture in Hawaii. We do not want to be affiliated in any way to such disgraceful behavior that was portrayed on that show. When something deals with Hawaii it is personal to the true locals of Hawaii. And for those of you who said “the portrayal of how the people talk and the general feel of the island is right on” then you ovbiously do not understand or had even experienced the life of the land. The injustice and outrage that we feel does not only come from the pathetic attempt to portray Hawaii in any way, but the fact is that the cast doesn’t even understand Hawaii either. The most Hawaiian thing in that distatseful display of the Hawaiian culture is the location. I am tired of people telling me to “relaxe” “get over it” and “move on” because honestly to move on there needs to be some type of closure. How can anyone “move on” when our reputation is being slandered. In the work place when local Hawaiian people move to the states we are automatically labeled as racist, ignorant, lazy, and other negative concepts because of these shows in which you are telling us to “get over.” Futhermore, this show is no where near to portraying locals regardless of race. Locals can be by birh be Caucasion, African American, Native American, Asian or whatever the case may be and still be true locals. The true locals of Hawaii understand that concept. But what causes outrage is that Hawaii once again is being stepped on and kicked to the side. Except that this time it’s on our own aina. If MTV wants to attempt to replace their sorry excuse of a show Laguna Beach that provides drama I can find in my own classes at school then let them pick on another state because the people of Hawaii are tired of being portrayed as ignorant perverts and whores. Mahalo nui loa for your time. Aloha
This show is so bad that I actually looked for a chat room just to tell someone how bad it is. It’s a bunch of teenagers that are not very good looking trying to hook up. I could go sit in the halls of my local high school and see the same crap. At least have a purpose to the show, or some better looking people!! MTV DROP MAUI FEVER!!
ill call you haole with all ur frens behind you i was gonna say somthin abuot the show but now its all about you ill hack my way to find you or jus let me know how to find you im not gonna stop to try to find you so have a good day enjoy life till i find you
NOT GOOD AT ALL. PLEASE REMOVE!
Well, let’s see… I’ve never been to Maui, I’m sure it’s a place to party and have fun in general, but as I watched the show, I couldn’t help but to laugh at these characters!… They sound so ignorant… they act like they have made something of their lives, when really, it’s their parents that have all the money and they have no clue what it’s like to earn a PAYCHECK. Anyway, I’d prefer The Hills over this show, at least they seem less snooty, WORK for a living, and just act more down to earth over all.
How can anyone watch this mess of a show. LOCALS, to me are born & raised in the islands. Not born in da mainland or else where & moved here to live. Gotta be frm HAWAII. Where are the good looking brown boys & the sweet soul of the HAWAIIAN gals. Chante get a grip cause U NOT LOCAL & her so called boyfriend open your eyes befo U get your heart broken.
Wow “call me haole you dumb locals” talking real big behind your computer and anonymity aren’t you? Or are you just trying to get a rise out of us cause you need some attention too? Moved here two months ago huh? You’re gonna learn REAL fast, if you haven’t already. Try, just try, I DARE you to talk like that to some real locals. Not the haoles you hang with, who think are local, REAL ones. And if you were truly reading the other posts the past few days, why would you still be confused? We’re voicing our opinions loud and clear. If you’re still “confused” that just confirms your obvious ignorance. “A hui ho brah”, idiot.
are you retarded??? why would you say that(call me haole you dumb locals)?? don’t say something like that and not leave your name. man up!!!! otherwise please do not say that. you’re just making yourself look bad. i’m not taking any sides because i’m born and raised on maui and most of my friends are of white ethnicity. it’s just about respecting the culture that has everyone upset. but if you can’t understand that concept then you are in serious doo doo.
To the white haole who said he just moved here 2 months ago and thinks that Maui Fever portrays Lahaina just how it is. Well let me tell you something. Go back where you came from. You sound and smell just like the garbage show that is “MAUI FEVER”
i saw the show just once and that was enough garbage to last me a lifetime the only reason i tuned in was because of the title which was completely deceiving they should’ve called the show ‘a bunch of haole kids acting stupid’ that would’ve been more accurate the true locals are wise not to get involved with this crap
TOTALLY AGREE WITH ANDRE
After watching 10 minutes of this garbage, I almost felt like killing someone (perhaps the white boy who posted previously could give me the pleasure to take out my anger on him). You must be an imbecile to find anything likable about the show, from the cast to the contents. Come on, you can go to the swamps of Louisiana and find people more attractive and less shallow (perhaps we can get the white boy who previously posted to join the cast). What sort of values are MTV trying to sell to America’s youths from this show? It’s ok to be a bunch of 20 somethings LOSERS
as long as you have a good time doing it? Give me a break.
I’ve been reading the comments on the other posts for the past few days, but I sit here confused. I think Maui Fever is an accurately portrayed show of Lahaina. I’ve lived in Maui for 2 months now and it’s exactly what I see. Maui is a place where white people can party and talk the weird pigeon accent, yah brah. I don’t know why all the so called locals are getting angry because Maui Fever is excellent. It’s a million times better than Laguna Beach. If anyone has a problem why don’t you just fight this white boy or call me haole. You Ignorant locals. One day all white people will own the lands from Oluwalu to Napili. Face it, the world will be white one day. haha. Oh yah, A hui ho brah.
