Now, before we get too excited, I haven’t seen a press release from NBC that confirms this, but Slice of SciFi lists Medium as one of the shows that will be coming back next season. As Dawn pointed out, they did say that most of the shows that went back to shooting more episodes after the strike were safe for next season. Also, Patricia Arquette has a contract for 5 seasons.

Okay, now I’m calm again. Fingers firmly crossed, breath held in anticipation, hoping that NBC gives us SOMETHING soon. Some glimmer of hope for at least one more season (and maybe more!). PLEEEAASE, NBC!!! Give us more Medium!!
Yay! Yippee! Hooray! Oh, I’m just a little excited! Especially after all the holding of our collective breathes we did last year waiting for the announcement that Medium was renewed for Season 4 – Oh boy! We were just dreaming we would have Season 5 and now it looks like a reality! I hope NBC stops moving it around – Medium had a 6.3 rating this week according to Zap2it, so it only lost a small portion of it’s lead-in audience from Deal or No Deal. Honestly, I don’t know why that show gets such high ratings, but at least it makes a better lead-in for Medium than that My Dad is Better Than Your Dad junk. I just can’t wait until everything is up and running again with new shows so most of these reality shows will go away.
I think we should have a special party to celebrate – don’t you think so Katelyn? I’ll bring a bottle of Asti Spumante, my favorite sparking wine, and a Red Velvet Cake and a Special Dark Chocolate Cake – yum – so moist and delicious!
Katelyn, any hints about the 2nd half of Burn Baby Burn?
Betty, don’t get too excited yet. Like Katelyn said, this hasn’t been confirmed, so I’m still holding my breath until I hear it from NBC. Also, I found an article in The Hollywood Reporter that lists which shows have been renewed, pending, or on the bubble, and it lists Medium as on the bubble. So let’s not get our hopes up just yet. It may be a bit premature to start planning a celebration.
Well Dawn, you know, those people that are calling shows “on the bubble” may not be the network officials, but just someone who values their own opinion. Medium’s ratings have been strong and it’s gotten a lot of positive press, besides the fact that it is more profitable if the show has five years of episodes when it goes into syndication. NBC would be really, really stupid to cancel the show now.
Let’s NOT send any negative energy out there – let’s celebrate instead!

They haven’t really updated the double episodes with more info. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see. Only a few more days. And since last year we didn’t even have much hope for so long on a renewal, why not still break out the bubbly?

I am the happiest person alive now that i know there is going to be another series. I love MEDIUM its the best programme i have ever watched, i used to enjoy ghost whisperer until someone got me onto medium. Partricia arquette is such a fantastic actress. yeee haaaa
My husband and I are great fans of the show, please bring us more episodes. Patricia, hang in there your show has a big following. NBC make it right, bring medium back [PLEASE}.

You’ll be thrilled to know Medium will be back for a fifth season. However, since it is a mid-season show, it won’t air until around January. (Sometimes it comes back early because another show is a total flop.)
