Medium Episode 4.12 "Partners in Crime" Open Mic

Did you get a chance to watch NBC’s teaser video for tonight’s episode? It looks so good. Just a few more hours til we can sit down and watch. Good thing Medium is too suspenseful for people to fall asleep on! I’ve been moving things and painting and gardening and moving things…Well, it has been a busy day, but my art studio is looking almost like a studio and the pansies in the garden are so cheery.

So, on to the refreshment portion of the day. I think that with a plot like this, there’s only one drink we should be making – The Serial Killer. Isn’t it cool that there’s a drink with that name? I’m only having one, because otherwise I don’t think I could see clearly enough to watch Medium.

You combine one ounce Malibu Rum, one ounce Spiced Rum, one ounce Light Rum, two and a half ounces of Orange Juice, two and a half ounces of Pineapple Juice and three quarters an ounce of Grenadine and then shake the ingredients. Serve on ice. Potent enough for you?

I also have a big tray of brownies and poundcake. I haven’t had poundcake in forever.

Oooooh, that drink sounds delish, Katelyn! I’ll have one of those with a slice of poundcake. I’ll add some fresh sliced strawberries and whipped topping to go with the cake. That’s my favorite way to have it.

I did see the teaser for this ep. I’m so glad they brought back Agent Cooper. That ep was one of my favorites from last season. He’s one of those good guys that’s just bad enough to scare you. He’s kinda creepy, inn’t he? Should be interesting to see he and Allison square off again. Sounds like another great ep. See ya there!
Ooh, and tonight is when Kelly Preston joins the show as Joe’s new partner. Should create some interesting conversations in the Dubois household. Lookin’ forward to that too!

  2. Lena

    Hello Dawn and Katelyn!
Love the drink choice- one should be enough, it sounds like one to put you on your a**.
This ep sounds very interesting primarily because of what I just learned about Kelly Preston’s character joining the cast to share scenes with Jake.

  3. Katelyn

And we’re off with a dream about Agent Cooper and a bad guy. Who wants to bet on whether the maid decides to change careers?

  4. Katelyn

    Ariel! I missed you!

  5. Lena

Wow Joe. The bathroom scene. I’m drunk. It’s not the drink.

  6. Katelyn

Each of my teeth is worth a dollar under my pillow.

And then the reasoning about the economy and 26 teeth just sitting around in her mouth…

  7. Katelyn

Hmm. Van Dyke and a serial killer killer hanging out. Can that be good for Van Dyke’s career?

Agent Cooper “That’s a very selfless offer Mr. Van Dyke. Offering to stand in front of all those cameras for me?”

  8. Katelyn

Prioritize Mrs. DuBois. Help me protect the citizens of Phoenix from a serial killer. Then you can protect the serial killer from me.

  9. Lena

Great ep so far. I’m glad Cooper’s not so chummy with Van Dyke.

  10. Katelyn

You at least got a pinky swear right? Without one he’s under no legal obligation…

  11. Katelyn

I love Agent Cooper. I don’t care if he does give out his own justice. He yanks Van Dyke’s change.

  12. Lena

Joe has a proposal. Is it an offer he can’t refuse?

  13. Lena

“I would never be so obtuse.”

  14. Katelyn

Oh no! It is Agent Cooper’s room and his death she’s seeing.

  15. Lena

D**n he’s dead. That was quick. Now what?

  16. Katelyn

Yikes. She has to break it to him that he’s dead.

  17. Lena

    Van Dyke is a prick.

  18. Katelyn

Man, talk about being a workaholic. Death isn’t going to keep Agent Cooper from doing his job.

  19. Katelyn

    Lena,
I have to say I completely agree. I don’t like him at all.

  20. Lena

Wow this one is so exciting! Solving murders with a dead person. Wonder why their identifications are different?

  21. Katelyn

That is one hilarious way to catch a killer. Scanlon was so funny watching Allison talking to the empty looking space beside her.

  22. Lena

“they think we’re lovers having a quarrel.”??
What’s her deal? If she wants to sleep with him hell just say so.

  23. Lena

    He signed the papers!!!
    She really wants it?!!!

  24. Katelyn

Yeah, I thought that part about “They think we’re lovers.” was a bit inappropriate, too.

  25. Lena

Dead people shouting at you from your bed in the middle of the night must be pretty scary.
    How does she do it?

  26. Katelyn

Now, she’s dreaming about bad stuff and getting woken from the bad dreams by a super bossy ghost. What’s next? The kids starting a Midnight marching band? The bags under the poor woman’s eyes will have bags if she doesn’t catch that killer fast!

  27. Katelyn

Cooper got his guy after all.

“To Edward Cooper, this WAS justice.”

  28. Katelyn

The ending was a bit sad. They just don’t see things the same way.

  29. lh

question: what happened to Joe’s money from the fall that was going to fund his invention? I missed something.

  30. Lena

Oh yeah! That was good wasn’t it? I like the ominous ending. Will Cooper be back? I think so.

You know, the makers of Medium, cast and crew are really spoiling us with some great performances. This has turned out to be a pretty good season so far don’t you think?

Well the next ep looks excellent too. I’ll see you next Monday.

  31. Katelyn

I think it just wasn’t quite enough money for what he needed to do.

  32. Jennifer

Help, I recorded this episode and the last 10 minutes were somehow cut off! The last scene I saw was the guy in the car after the accident going to see if the other driver was okay. That was it! I know that the “dead guy” *Red* told her she had the wrong guy and to go to the bar to find the murderer with Scanlon, and that’s it. If someone could please tell me what the ending was, I would appreciate it so much! Thanks, Jen

  33. Dawn

WOW!! That was an excellent episode!! I was TOTALLY not expecting the twist in the middle, but I loved it. That was classic Medium!! Allison working with a ghost to catch a serial killer, and not just his own killer. Cooper definitely has his own brand of justice and I knew that he and Allison weren’t going to see eye to eye, but wow! That scene when she had to tell him he was dead was so sad. You could see the sadness in her face, even in the morgue, and when she was telling him about his own death. Great writing, and acting! It was fantastic to seeing her working with a ghost again, and to see that aspect of her abilities. The last scene was great. He was so smug and self-assured, as if he was so right in his perverse brand of justice. Loved the way Allison stood up to him.
I don’t think I’m going to like this Meghan Doyle character. She’s too pushy and she’s manipulating Joe and taking advantage of him. She totally sold him and convinced him that he wasn’t going to get a better deal than she was offering. I just hope she doesn’t try to screw him over.
Bridget was too funny about her teeth. “26 dollars just waiting to be spent”. Lol! That kid is a scream! Great to see Ariel again, even if it was only for one scene.

OMG! The next episode looks like it’s going to be really good too. What’s going to happen to Allison? Can’t wait for that!

  34. Dawn

Jen, when she and Scanlon got to the bar, they found a condemned building, and they couldn’t figure out why he sent them there. On the way home, they came upon the accident that Allison had dreamt about, and she realized that the dead guy was the guy from her dreams. Scanlon told her that they found Cooper’s gun, along with lots of other evidence connecting him to the other murders. Then Allison realized that Cooper had known that the guy was going to die and he sent them on a wild-goose chase so they couldn’t prevent it. Allison realized that that was Cooper’s brand of justice. When she got home, Cooper was in her house and he told her that if the guy had gone to jail, that he would have killed again, so he had to stop him. But Allison still didn’t agree with him, and she told him to leave. But he insisted that they could continue to work together to stop killers with him helping her. She told him that he was no different than the men he killed and that he would end up in the same place as them someday.

  35. Jennifer

Dawn, thank you so much for that reply, I was really “jonesing” to find out! Have a great day!

  36. Betty

    Gotta love that Bridgette!

Ariel, child where HAVE you been?

Poor Marie, looked a little bored at the table – I guess she wants more lines now that they are giving her some. Maybe she’ll be renegotiating her contract soon. Ha Ha!

I liked this ep FAR better than the one last year with this Cooper guy. Yep, LOVED the way he stood up to Van Dyke and put him in his place! Where was he when Allison was getting all the flack in the media and Devalos lost his job?

Cool ending, although it was SHOCKING to see Cooper bite it, but then again, on Medium, that doesn’t stop us from seeing him again, does it?

Katelyn, are you trying to kill us with that drink? WHOA!
