This is the plotline that has always seemed shoehorned in to appeal to the younger kids who wouldn't actually have any reason to read the book. But I do like that Rosie (Anna Kendrick) and Marco (Chace Crawford) are rival food truck chefs. If you're gonna go zeitgeist, go zeitgeist all the way.
Skyler (Brooklyn Decker) is mostly comedic relief: She stays gorgeous and glowing through pregnancy, and she's married to a much older man (Dennis Quaid) that people think is her supportive father instead.
Ensemble movies have fun making up a character who represents Hollywood/pop culture/the media--meet Jules (Cameron Diaz), a TV fitness guru married to a fellow celebrity (Matthew Morrison) who competes on a Dancing with the Stars style reality competition show.
Wendy (Elizabeth Banks) will probably be the heart of this movie, since she goes into pregnancy thinking it'll be this beautiful, life-affirming experience and she instead gets screwed in every way. I feel like any woman would say that pregnancy changes you; Wendy will be showcasing the uglier (and funnier) changes that aren't always talked about.
Holly (Jennifer Lopez) is prepared to travel the world to adopt her child, but her husband is more reluctant. Note that J. Lo is holding a copy of the actual What to Expect book. It'd be an ironic touch if she were the only mother to consult it, considering that a lot of its advice addresses the physical aspects carrying a fetus.
