For some crazy reason, Michael Jackson’s family refused to release the use of his music for So You Think You Can Dance to do a tribute show this summer. No one seems to know what the issue was with SYTYCD, but even though the show and everyone involved wanted to pay tribute to MJ, the family said no. (Choreographer Wade Robson who works on the show even worked with Michael at one time!)
But I guess Dancing With the Stars has managed to get permission now to do its own tribute to MJ. That’s what we’ll be seeing on tonight’s results show. Many of the show’s pro dancers have been working hard to put together the performance. It’s a must-see night for Dancing With the Stars!
And there’s another huge event planned for October 24th. On Oct. 24th at exactly 5:30 p.m. there will be a world record attempt for the most people dancing simultaneously to Michael Jackson’s Thriller. It’s kind of vague, but it appears that there will be several locations in L.A. participating along with over 300 locations around the word. Here’s where you can find out more about how to participate in the event.
