Michael Lohan Reality Show a Fake? or Michael a fake?

A video has been floating around the web of a supposed ‘Michael Lohan Reality Show’. There are narrated elements, then there are clips from Michael Lohan in court, him in a prayer session, and many references to Lindsay.

So is it, or is it not, a fake?

This is the video:

Michael Lohan is denying the video is anything but a lie. Or at least he did, at first… the details will surprise you…

Many elements are from a promotional video he is making for Teen Challenge. Much of it is to my distaste – using Lindsay to promote his ministry. Quite disgusting, really. Good intentions or not, it is still exploitation.

From E Online (1st report), we have a jumble of confusing statements from Michael.

On Tuesday, Michael reported:

"No way," Michael Lohan exclusively told E! Online. "I am definitely not looking for my own reality show. That’s Dina’s thing, and I’ve got my own thing."…

"That tape was pirated from me and then spliced together with a title that made it look like some show I was putting together," he said.

"Some of it’s footage for my ministry’s promotional campaign, and some of it is just other stuff thrown in, like me going to court," he continues.

"But most of that footage was actually for a promotional video I was doing for Teen Challenge."

He claimed he had suspicions on who stole the tapes – that the resulting compilation was spliced together. He even claimed to have called Lindsay in a panic to tell her it was not true.

Now, today, we find that to be a blatant lie.

Michael Lohan admits he collaborated on the video with producer Burt Kearns. The two were set to do a reality show on the Lohans back in 2004, before Michael went to prison.

"And when I got out of jail [last March], I didn’t have one bit of footage. When I got out of jail, they said they wanted to continue the program. I said I’m just interested in pursuing my ministry work. I told them, If you want to document that, then go ahead," Lohan said.

"That’s the footage they got, and that’s what they cut together with other stuff to make it look a certain way. But I didn’t agree to anything being cut together and released to the media. They never asked me if they could do that."

So, the final creative product may not have been the work of Michael, but clearly the ministry promotional video was. Kearns, the president, has this to say:

"This is not a reality show like Dina’s show. Not like The Simple Life. It’s a documentary that follows Michael as he tries to rebuild his life, tries to rebuild other people through his ministry work and tries to rebuild his own family," Kearns said.

The real issue is Lindsay – and this is the one redeeming point about Michael Lohan I have to say about the whole issue. He is angered about the scenes featuring Lindsay.

"The shots of me talking about those terrible pictures of Lindsay, that was to show my honest reaction to what happened, what abusing drugs and alcohol can do to one person’s life, and it was all for Teen Challenge," he says, adding that he’s called his daughter to explain he was no longer pursuing the project.

"There is no shooting going on right now…And I promise, even if the show is picked up, I don’t care, I’m not participating," he said.

So, does this indicate he regrets using her for the Teen Challenge video? It appears that could be partly the case. He may regrets how Lindsay might see his decision:

"Michael Lohan is a little embarrassed by it. He’s very afraid of going against Lindsay. He’s worked very hard to stay on the right path with her. And so, unfortunately, Michael isn’t telling the truth."

Kearns insists that Lohan was with him pitching the documentary to networks as recently as September. So, Michael is threatening litigation. But Kearns still has a valid contract.

So, how will this play out? There are so many issues here, I don’t even know where to start!

Well, after Ironing out the computer problems I have been having off and on for the last two months, I finally got that video to play, sorry it took me so long, sometimes being a computer tech, makes you look in all the WRONG places for the answer. It turns out it was my Anti-Virus, Norton of all things….Grrrrr…well as to my take on the video, I will reserve judgement, I will say this ( write this ?? ) about being percieved as ” Jesus Freaks ” what evangelicals were called in the late 60′s and early 70′s. It I-S possible to be Evangelical, without being or coming off as a zealot or crackpot !! with a slight modification that video could be so much more powerful, with out sounding like a bad remake of an Oral Roberts tele-evangelical presentation. Jesus is the Christ, The SON of GOD, and there is a way to present that message without the ” Charismatic ” Overtones so many preachers affect. Because it IS an ” Affectation ” and it sounds Phony, not sincere. Does more harm than good. The shouted southern twang Affectation of ” Peraisie Gyode ” ” Can Ieye Get an Aieeemen On that Brouuther ” kind of sound, is annoying to a true Christian, Like I am. The Message,, can be given without being boring, or overly insulting to the intellect. It can be given in a straight forward manner; with the simple but heartfelt statement that a: All Men ( and Women ) have Sinned and Fallen short of the Glory of GOD, and to make thing right between Us, and HIM, who is perfect, and GOD, that HE sent HIS only Begotten SON, to Die for Our Sins, so that we, putting on Christ in Baptism, can be Redeamed from same, so we can once again through the Blood of Christ, be perfect in the eyes of that same GOD. He adopts US, back into his family when we were outside looking in without hope. The Single GREATEST MESSAGE OF ALL TIME, but it needs to be said in a manner that does not Insult the MESSAGE itself !!! Or HE who is it’s Author !!!! Remember this,,, it takes a REAL Man, to put on Christ in Baptism, and stand up and be counted, among the TRULY LIVING. A R-E-A-L MAN. OR WOMAN !!!
This means YOU Lindsay, or any of the other readers of this particular comment. Do what you will with this message you have been given. But I have also told you, now, as best as I can. Look up Baptism, and the reasons in the Christian belief for same, if you have not yet put on Christ in Baptism, and consider well your immortal souls future, and think about your possible choices of not having any choice soon.
GOD Bless You Always, Lindsay D Lohan, I Love You Always, ME, Larry T Robinson O.R. Tn.

PPS — no offense to Michael — but the video really ISN’T that well done — it really does look like a cut-patch-and-paste job …

PS — btw — I think if/when (if not already) Lindsay DOES place her trust in Jesus’ Salvation — or even if not — she has learned enough from her experience to be willing to have the footage of those “unhappy” times used if it will help others.

That is just like Lindsay — she would want to help others — especially younger kids (like Ali and Cody) avoid or escape what she has been through; I don’t see a whole lot for Michael to be “embarrassed” about … except that he hadn’t talked with her about it first …

As always, in His Love …

… only one word — beautiful!

… one of my favorite songs — Jesus, Bring the Rain.

… three more words: Thank You, Jesus

    Fake? fake what?

Well first of all — this seems a little ‘old’ (i.e. “stale”) — I think we’ve been through this already and are now way beyond it …

Funny — how someone might put something like this together as a mockery, and it ends up being used to actually touch people’s lives and bring them into salvation? It may be that whoever put this together does not realize what an incredibly positive and powerful presentation it is! Truly ” … all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.” (Romans 8:28)

At the end the narrator completely misses the whole point …

“Will he save his daughter? Can he save himself?”

    NEITHER!

Only Jesus can save (has already saved) Lindsay …

    or Michael …

    or me …

    or you, dear reader …

He can — and He already has — we only need to accept The Salvation He has already accomplished through His Sacrificial Death, Supernatural Resurrection, and Eternal Life.

Thank you, Michael — whether this is intentional on your part, or not, may The Lord use it to reach others who may not otherwise hear your joyful message.

Praying for you Lindsay — to be saved — and KEPT — in the Loving Arms of Him Who Loves you — more than anyone ever can — FOREVER.

Although SOMEHOW I think you may ALREADY BE THERE ! :-)

As always, in His Love, your Affectionate Fan
