Michael Lohan went to the New York City Rescue Mission today to help serve at the 2007 Great Thanksgiving Banquet. This is the kick off to a week of Thanksgiving help for the homeless in New York.

He made a speech about homelessness in America and also announced that he wants to open a restaurant in LA where Lindsay would be part-owner so that she “can be around people she can trust -where she can hang her hat and call her own.”

he makes me sick. he doesn’t give a shit about those people and if they’re starving or homeless, he just wants more publicity. he’s famous off her name and that’s all he’ll ever be known as, “lindsay’s dad”.
Yeah.. I also don’t like how he kind of name dropped on his daughter like that. It’s kind of shameless, really. I’m actually hoping that he was asked a direct question about Lindsay and was quoted somewhat out of context rather than he just started talking about Lindsay because he’s found he gets more attention when he does that than when he talks about Jesus. Just saying.

Well if Lindsay was the Blue Fox, then I am the Yellow Trout ( reference Kim Possible from Disney Chanel ) Not the Pink Sloth, Although Kim DID wind up dating her Pink Sloth…..Hmmmnnn. I watch a L-O-T of Disney, just good entertainment, as opposed to murder and mayhem, some thanksgiving fare that is HUH !!

dave — yes, I agree — it’s annoying when Michael keeps dropping her name in all his conversations. But I don’t get that this is exactly a photo op — more like the paps just showed up and he went along with it ? Maybe I just don’t understand how these things work …
But it really is NOT looking good for what’s happening with Ali — that just scares me (I left a “brief” comment in the Dina — Ali post).
I think Michael is just showing signs of being a very “young” Christian — i.e. one has not been a follower for very long. It takes a lifetime plus one day (or one moment, one nanosecond?) to outgrow pride — but I really do think Michael is headed in the right direction.
Lindsay — as dave has said — PLEASE talk some sense into those young-uns siblings of yours (like anyone their age will listen to anybody). But MAYBE they will listen to you — at least a little — so try what you can — I know you will, because I know you care. But I also think we know what a strong personality you are all up against in your mother!

anyway,i have a couple of observations about my favorite entertainer and just darn interesting woman,the incomparable Lindsay Lohan.
first,she is wisely avoiding the michael lohan ‘i’m famous’ photo-op that is this homeless mission meal is.while i give him credit for helping out the not so fortunate,does he have to have a huge camera freakshow there,broadcasting his philanthrophy to the whole world???it makes him seem not so sincere,when he can’t do anything without the freakin’ media all over the place.
second,Lindsay is seen in new photos in new york,always walking in front of her mom,no mother-daughter closeness,as if Lindsay is subtlely showing her disagreement with her moms exploitation of ali and cody,and her moms constant aims to be famous just like the dad.you aren’t joking,people,stage parents from hell.even if Lindsay has come to terms with her dad,forgiven him,and restarted the relationship,he still wants to be famous,i can see it in his eyes,words,and actions,always using his eldest daughters name as a way to further his ambitions,’benevolent’ though they may seem.we already know the mom wants the fame too,so sad to be stuck between the stage parent ‘rock’ and the fame/temptations ‘hard place’.i really feel for miss Lohan and her younger siblings.i trust that she will make the right decisions in her career and personal life,and that she can talk some sense into her parents,save these younger two kids the tragedy of young hollywierd ‘fame’,or at least steer them in the right direction,whatever that may be.
oh well,happy thanksgiving to miss Lohan,her family,and you guys,the fans,on this fabuLLous fansite.don’t eat too much turkey…

It HAS been a year, hasn’t it? I could not have imagined back in January all that lay ahead — how could any of us have ever guessed!?
I’m mostly just *** SO *** THANKFUL *** for how things seem to be turning out for our dearest and — in your words, dave, ” … humanly flawed but healing, but still … ” (and I would like to add — ALWAYS!!!) ” … incomparable miss Lindsay Lohan”. She is much stronger now — I believe that God had a definite purpose for letting her reach the point she did — so she would be able to find how much she needs Him — and how much He Loves and Cares for her!
I’m also thankful for you, dave, and Arieanna, Larry R, Harry S, alex parks, Elizabeth, share da bear (and anyone else whose name I may have left out) for your support of Lindsay and each other — especially including me — as we struggled through the dark passages with Lindsay. I’m impressed with how each of you is supportive in a different way, and from the depths of your own life and struggles. I have learned a LOT just being in touch with you all — truly this is the most caring “groupie” group I have seen anywhere on the web! I only hope that Lindsay has somehow been able to “tune in” here once in a while and find some the support she needs.
To all of you — and most especially to you, Lindsay — I pray that you have a blessed Thanksgiving, and that you look back, and around you — and up — and find that in so many ways you are truly blessed, and that you have MUCH for which to be thankful!

OK — if that’s what he really said. Maybe he really WOULD like to do that but I would hope that he has talked this over with Lindsay before putting it to the public. I think it would annoy her to find out he’s talking big plans that she doesn’t have the first clue about.
Dave, I’m inclined to agree with you — I had hoped that once they re-connected Mr. Lohan’s “urgency” to go public with his first daughter’s fame would fade out. I’m a little bit annoyed here (again — IF that’s REALLY what he said … )
i do give michael credit for trying,but i really wish he would refrain from always using his daughters name as a way of staying relevant,famous?we get that you are trying to make amends and turn your life around,very nice,but could you be a dad to that marvelous miss Lindsay and her sister and brothers FIRST,and stop trying to be famous!!!”stop trying to make fame happen,it’s not going to happen!”(my reference to that fetch and fabuLLous movie,Mean Girls)anyway,happy turkey day to the Lohan family.peace
