Michael Sarver Behind-the-Scenes of the American Idol Finale

Former season seven finalist, Michael Sarver, filmed some behind-the-scenes action as the Top 13 prepared to take the stage for the last two episodes of American Idol this year.

Unfortunately, as is the case with most things related to this show, there is a bit of a “scandal” going around regarding this video.  Michael originally uploaded it to his MySpace account but pulled it down after he realized that something was said that could be considered offensive. Danny Gokey (talking about Michael) said he “I love this boy to pieces” and then realizes that it could be taken out of context and adds “in the… right way” but then Michael corrects him and says “in the Godly way.”  Yikes.  I love both of these guys but I can see how some people might have been a little put off by it.  I don’t think they meant anything by it but…

Anyway, I’d rather not focus on that.  Check out the cuteness of this video and tell me what you think!

oh come on, i dont even like danny but that was an innocent slip. no homophobia in this one.

Michael Sarver did not even deserve to make it to the top 36, let alone top 10. Alexis was 10 times better than him. I cannot stand him or Gokey, can’t wait for Adam to rip them to shreds after the tour

Ye well they meant it as inference they weren’t ‘like’ Adam because if they weren’t thinking about how ‘unlike’ they were, it wouldn’t even have been uppermost in their tiny little minds or even mentioned. 2-faced jerks.

Michael is a good friend of mine. I know him personally and I can tell you that my friend is a great Man of God, he is honest and he is a bit of a kid at heart. He is one of the most integrous people on the planet, thanks to his pastor who took him in as a young person. If Michael tells you that he has any love for you, he means it. That is his way of saying, I am gonna pray for you, stand by you and be your friend for life.

Thats how we know Michael Sarver. Everyone in Jasper, Texas knows him as a man who loves people.

    I appreciate being his friend.

I heard that the guy that was making the coffee got fired because he said that Folgers was the real sponsor, not Ford. I guess Ford hit the roof!

I’ve always enjoyed Michael Sarver’s voice and Danny’s, too. I won’t speculate on what they both meant by “the right way” because I am not in their heads and cannot read their minds. But I can see how some people might be offended by this.

I just really wish it would be *just* about the music, but I guess it never really is, is it? *sigh*

Thank you for your comment. I was referring specifically to loving someone “in the right way.” I don’t think it’s up to anyone to determine what the “correct” way of loving someone is.

I appreciate you clarifying your interpretation of what was said.

“I don’t think they meant anything by it but… ”
Yes, they did mean something by it. They meant that they love each other in the Lord, as Christian *brothers* because it’s the love of Christ that bonds them together in love. Very Cool.

I hope that clears it up for you and thanks for sharing the video. <3
