While so many have focused on President-elect, Barack Obama, and how they believe he will lead the United States, the Today show painted the portrait of a new First Lady. The wife of the president is an important role since, if any of you have been married (or in a long-term relationship), you will know how much influence a spouse or partner can have. When Bill Clinton was in office, it was clear that his wife, Hillary, who unsuccessfully ran against Obama in the Democratic primaries, was a strong woman so, it is natural, to wonder about Michelle Obama. She is a mother of two young girls but many people may not realize that, after coming from humble beginnings, Michelle earned a scholarship, graduated from Harvard and became a lawyer. I think that background is going to be important during her time in the White House.
