As David Beckham and AC Milan geared up for their game in Scotland against the Rangers later today, David’s lawyers geared up for talks between Galaxy and Milan about extending David’s stay with the team. Currently, David is obligated to return to the Galaxy on March 8.

“Beckham’s lawyers are talking to the Los Angeles Galaxy, who are the rightful owners of his registration,” AC Milan’s general manager Adriano Galliani told the British Press Association. “If they show themselves to be ready to look at a deal, we would be really happy to do so.”
Milan had made it public that they would very much like David to stay on with them. David has not made such a vocal commitment, rather remaining ambigious but claiming to enjoy Milan, the team and learnign Italian.
Rumors have picked up around Victoria warming up to such a move.
“I like Milan a lot. I know so many people there, especially in the world of fashion: Dolce and Gabbana, Armani,” she told Italian Vanity Fair this month. “The city is vibrant, full of energy and passion. You eat well. There are no reasons not to appreciate Milan.” There’s even speculation Victoria has scouted schools for the boys in the city.
However, the extension of the contract may not be permanent.
“We are looking to get him either on loan until the end of the season or on a permanent basis,” Galliani told the press. “Otherwise, with the greatest regret from everyone – starting with me – Beckham will have to go.”
I think David would be quite pleased if his contract with Milan got extended. He’s been playing very well for them and they are having a stellar season. However, it would be an unfortunate blow for the Los Angeles Galaxy. David also has to consider what this move might mean for his career after he retires from playing. He had several strong contacts in Los Angeles and rumors flew he was looking into sports branding and management in the States once he retired from football.
