According to CinemaBlend, two Disney stars names have been attached to the remake of “Gidget”. Most likely, none of you have any idea what “Gidget” is. I’ve heard of it, but have no idea what it really is. All I know is that “The movies were a part of the long since dead surfer culture craze”. Hmmm…interesting.
Supposedly, Miley Cyrus is already attached to the film and she will be in the titular Gidget role which once belonged to Sally Fields. The original films were what launched Sally Fields into stardom.
Now we are hearing, that Zac Efron has been approached to play a modern day Frankie Avalon, which would be Miley’s character’s love interest in the movie. The film will be a musical comedy. Given Efron’s latest moves and comment, letting go of the Footloose role and saying he wants to be taken more serious as an actor, would lead us all to think this is not a role he would go for.

Agh! I love Gidget – I have all three movies on VHS. The first one is the best, though. You should definitely watch the original Gidget if you haven’t!

Hey Meg! After watching the clip with Sally Field, I do remember my parents loving these movies. I think I will definitely have to rent them to see what they’re like.

Gidget is great! A classic from the 60’s! The movies have Sandra Dee in them and the tv show was a spinoff of the movies with Sally Field. I think the tv show is better, but the movie is still good too. I do have a hard time thinking of Miley in that character though.
I would love to see Zac Efron in a Gidget movie but I think Julieanne Hough should be Gidget!!!

but Miley cyrus is not fit for this role in any way at all.
I’m tired of seeing the same actors recycled in multiple movies.

But not Miley Cyrus as the new Sandra Dee.

nooooo gidget remake. the original was perfect, it doesn’t need remaking. all they’re going to do is ruin it and turn it into something “modern” and “hip” Sandra Dee was the only good gidget, Cyrus won’t even stand a chance. Plus, no teenager will want to watch an innocent movie about surfing and love, it’ll be ‘boring’ for them.
